The 2024 Program Tenaga Bersih Bersepadu (TBB) supports the country's shift to clean energy and aims to attract a RM12 billion investment, creating 36,000 jobs. Celebrating International Clean Energy Day on January 26, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 7, the government is committed to a greener future. ๐๐ณโ
Key initiatives for 2024 include:
1. Extension of Net Energy Metering (NEM) with an additional 100MW for residential and 300MW for commercial use, promoting solar power on rooftops. ๐ก
2. Launching the Large Scale Solar (LSS) program (2,000MW quota), including floating solar and increased participation limits. โ
3. Implementation of the Low Carbon Energy Generation Programme (400MW quota) for projects using non-solar sources like wind, hydro, and bioenergy. ๐ฌ๐
4. Commencement of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) pilot project (400MW) by early 2024, enhancing the national energy grid. โ
