Exciting developments coming out from the GS lab! We have been working to develop and deploy a rapid sequencing method to sequence COVID-19 variants of concerns in Malaysia. We project a sequencing capacity of up to 96 genomes per day using a SINGLE nanopore cell. 🔍🧬🏡

Thanks and credits to Ms. Tharanya, at NST, for running with this story.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government should use Nanopore sequencing technology for accurate, comprehensive and rapid sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 genomes.

Rapid, low cost Covid-19 variant ID by GeneSEQ Sdn. Bhd. Contact us at [email protected]

The best evidence for mutation/variant identification is sequenced DNA. We have been developing rapid, low-cost next-gen sequencing solutions for Covid-19 variant identification. 🔍🧬

Our approach is unmatched by routine PCR genotyping panels currently used to ID variants (method shared by DG Hisham in the following post, re: https://lnkd.in/gzt_wqB).

Samples are provided by our valued collaborators (you know who you are).

A quick update from our GS team. We have been ramping up our capacity to rapidly sequence and identify Covid-19 VOCs (variants of concern) in Malaysia. We have the capability to identify delta, delta+, gamma, beta, and alpha variants - more VOC identification to follow soon. From sample processing to identity in 48 hours or less. 🧬🧬🧬s

Congratulations to Worldfish's Jérôme Delamare-Deboutteville, our frequent collaborator, on the publication of this paper. This paper outlines a rapid method of genotyping TiLV (tilapia lake virus) in less than 12 hours with Nanopore sequencing. This method can also be adapted to other aquatic diseases! 🐟🧬🐟🧬
