18 MEI 2026 | PERBINCANGAN HALATUJU SKOP PENYELIDIKAN PEMETAAN SUMBER TENAGA BOLEH BAHARU (TBB) BIRU MALAYSIA (NAHRIM-SEDA)

Satu sesi Perbincangan Halatuju Skop Penyelidikan Pemetaan Sumber Tenaga Boleh Baharu (TBB) Biru Malaysia yang melibatkan kerjasama antara NAHRIM dan Pihak Berkuasa Pembangunan Tenaga Lestari (SEDA) telah berlangsung di SEDA, Cyberjaya pada 18 Mei 2026. Objektif utama pertemuan strategik ini adalah untuk merangka langkah dan kaedah bagi mengenal pasti serta memetakan potensi sumber tenaga ombak di kawasan perairan Malaysia secara komprehensif berpandukan analisis parameter lautan.

Melalui inisiatif perbincangan ini, kedua-dua pihak menaruh harapan untuk menyediakan pangkalan maklumat asas teknikal dan saintifik yang tepat bagi menyokong pembangunan projek perintis tenaga ombak di negara ini pada masa akan datang. Usaha perintis ini juga merupakan sasaran penting NAHRIM dalam memacu pertumbuhan Pembangunan Ekonomi Biru, di samping mendokong agenda peralihan tenaga negara demi mencapai kelestarian alam dan pemerkasaan teknologi hijau.

18 MAY 2026 | DISCUSSION ON THE RESEARCH SCOPE DIRECTION FOR MAPPING MALAYSIA'S BLUE RENEWABLE ENERGY (RE) RESOURCES (NAHRIM-SEDA)

A discussion session on the Research Scope Direction for Mapping Malaysia's Blue Renewable Energy (RE) Resources, a collaborative effort between NAHRIM and the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), took place at SEDA, Cyberjaya on 18 May 2026. The main objective of this strategic meeting was to formulate steps and methodologies to comprehensively identify and map the potential of wave energy resources in Malaysian waters based on the analysis of ocean parameters.

Through this initiative, both parties hope to establish a precise technical and scientific baseline database to support the development of pilot wave energy projects in the country moving forward. This pioneering effort is also a crucial target for NAHRIM in driving the growth of the Blue Economy, while supporting the national energy transition agenda to achieve environmental sustainability and the advancement of green technology.

18 MEI 2026 | MESYUARAT KEMAJUAN PROJEK BIL. 1/2026 BAGI SEBUT HARGA PERKHIDMATAN MEMBEKAL DATA PRESTASI PENGHASILAN TENAGA DIPERBAHARUI BERASASKAN ALIRAN AIR

Makmal Hidraulik dan Instrumentasi (MHI), NAHRIM telah mengadakan Mesyuarat Kemajuan Projek Bil. 1/2026 bagi Sebut Harga Perkhidmatan Membekal Data Prestasi Penghasilan Tenaga Diperbaharui Berasaskan Aliran Air pada 18 Mei 2026 (Isnin) yang lalu. Bertempat di Bilik Mesyuarat MHI, NAHRIM, mesyuarat secara bersemuka ini diadakan bertujuan untuk membincangkan laporan kemajuan projek semasa, menyelaraskan gerak kerja, serta memperincikan jadual pelaksanaan (timeline) bagi memastikan keseluruhan projek berjalan dengan lancar dan teratur antara kedua-dua belah pihak.

Mesyuarat yang dihadiri oleh pihak pengurusan, pengurus projek, serta wakil teknikal yang bertanggungjawab ini amat penting dalam meneliti perincian data prestasi penghasilan tenaga diperbaharui berasaskan aliran air agar menepati standard kualiti yang ditetapkan. Melalui komitmen tinggi dan jalinan kerjasama erat yang dizahirkan dalam perbincangan ini, NAHRIM terus mengorak langkah kanan dalam memacu penyelidikan hidraulik, pemerkasaan teknologi hijau, dan pengurusan sumber air yang mampan demi kelestarian masa depan negara.

18 MAY 2026 | PROJECT PROGRESS MEETING NO. 1/2026 FOR THE QUOTATION OF SERVICES TO SUPPLY PERFORMANCE DATA FOR WATER FLOW-BASED RENEWABLE ENERGY GENERATION

The Hydraulics and Instrumentation Laboratory (MHI), NAHRIM recently held the Project Progress Meeting No. 1/2026 for the Quotation of Services to Supply Performance Data for Water Flow-Based Renewable Energy Generation on Monday, 18 May 2026. Held at the MHI Meeting Room, NAHRIM, this face-to-face meeting aimed to discuss the current project progress report, coordinate workflows, and detail the implementation schedule (timeline) to ensure the overall project runs smoothly and systematically between both parties.

The meeting, attended by management, project managers, and key technical representatives, was crucial in examining the details of the performance data for water flow-based renewable energy generation to ensure it meets the established quality standards. Through the high commitment and close collaboration demonstrated during this discussion, NAHRIM continues to stride forward in driving hydraulic research, empowering green technology, and managing water resources sustainably for the future of the nation.

14 MEI 2026 | Penghargaan Buat Warga Kerja Kajian Penilaian Outcome (KPO) NAHRIM di peringkat Kementerian Peralihan Tenaga dan Transformasi Air (PETRA) bagi tahun 2025

Makmal Hidraulik dan Instrumentasi (MHI), selaku penyelaras Program Penyelidikan Produk Hidraulik bagi Industri Sumber Air di bawah Rancangan Malaysia Ke-11 (RMKe-11), telah berjaya menyempurnakan Kajian Penilaian Outcome (KPO) NAHRIM di peringkat Kementerian Peralihan Tenaga dan Transformasi Air (PETRA) bagi tahun 2025.

Setinggi-tinggi penghargaan dan terima kasih diucapkan kepada En. Ismail bin Hj. Tawnie, P.Geol (Pengarah MHI) serta Ir. Ts. Icahri bin Hj. Chatta (Ketua Program merangkap Pembentang Penilaian Akhir KPO). Sekalung penghargaan juga diucapkan kepada Ahli Jawatankuasa Penilaian Outcome Peringkat Jabatan serta seluruh pegawai Institut Penyelidikan Air Kebangsaan Malaysia (NAHRIM) yang telah memberikan komitmen jitu dalam menjayakan program ini.

Melalui impak positif KPO ini, program penyelidikan tersebut bukan sahaja memperkukuh infrastruktur hidraulik negara, malah bertindak sebagai pemangkin utama dalam pembangunan modal insan tempatan. Pemindahan teknologi dan peningkatan kepakaran rantaian penyelidik muda ini amat kritikal bagi melahirkan tenaga pakar yang kompeten, sekali gus memacu agenda kelestarian sumber air demi kesejahteraan dan kualiti hidup rakyat secara menyeluruh.

14 MAY 2026 | Appreciation to the NAHRIM Outcome Evaluation Study (KPO) Team at the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) Level for the Year 2025

​The Hydraulics and Instrumentation Laboratory (MHI), as the coordinator of the Hydraulic Product Research Program for the Water Resources Industry under the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (RMKe-11), has successfully completed the NAHRIM Outcome Evaluation Study (KPO) at the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) level for the year 2025.

​Highest appreciation and gratitude are extended to Mr. Ismail bin Hj. Tawnie, P.Geol (Director of MHI) and Ir. Ts. Icahri bin Hj. Chatta (Program Head and Presenter for the Final KPO Evaluation). A special token of appreciation is also dedicated to the Department-Level Outcome Evaluation Committee members, as well as all officers of the National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM) who have demonstrated unwavering commitment toward ensuring the success of this program.

​Through the positive impact of this KPO, the research program not only strengthens the nation's hydraulic infrastructure but also serves as a key catalyst for local human capital development. The technology transfer and capacity building within this network of young researchers are critical to producing competent experts, thereby driving the water sustainability agenda for the overall well-being and quality of life of the people.

5 MEI 2026 | PERBINCANGAN SUSULAN MASALAH RESAPAN AIR KOMPLEKS MARKAS ANGKATAN BERSAMA (MKAB)

Pegawai Penyelidik Makmal Hidraulik dan Instrumentasi (MHI), Ir. Liew dan Dr. Nizar telah menghadiri Perbincangan Susulan Masalah Resapan Air Kompleks Markas Angkatan Bersama (MKAB), Kuantan pada 5 Mei 2026.

Perbincangan telah dipengerusi oleh Yang Berbahagia Mejar Jeneral Dato' Khairul Anuar bin Abd Aziz, Ketua Staf MKAB dan dihadiri oleh Yang Berbahagia Kepten Mohamad Hasli bin Abu Hassan TLDM, Pengarah Pusat Operasi Bersama, Yang Berbahagia Kolonel Ir Mazlan bin A. Majid, Pegawai Memerintah 94 UPKAT dan Yang Berbahagia Leftenan Kolonel Ir Mohd Shahnaz bin Sani, Pegawai Staf 1 Rekabentuk, Cawangan Kejuruteraan Awam BPKP.

Antara intipati perbincangan termasuklah hasil dapatan penyiasatan awal dan cadangan tindakan yang disyorkan oleh pihak NAHRIM.

5 MAY 2026 | FOLLOW-UP DISCUSSION ON WATER SEEPAGE ISSUES AT KOMPLEKS MARKAS ANGKATAN BERSAMA (MKAB)

​Research Officers from the Hydraulics and Instrumentation Laboratory (MHI), Ir. Liew and Dr. Nizar, attended a follow-up discussion regarding water seepage issues at Kompleks Markas Angkatan Bersama (MKAB) in Kuantan on 5 May 2026.

​The session was chaired by Major General Dato' Khairul Anuar bin Abd Aziz, Chief of Staff of MKAB. Also in attendance were Captain Mohamad Hasli bin Abu Hassan RMN, Director of the Joint Operations Centre; Colonel Ir. Mazlan bin A. Majid, Commanding Officer of 94 UPKAT; and Lieutenant Colonel Ir. Mohd Shahnaz bin Sani, Staff Officer 1 (Design), Civil Engineering Branch of BPKP.

​Key highlights of the discussion included the findings of the preliminary investigation and the proposed remedial actions recommended by NAHRIM.

27 APRIL 2026 | LAWATAN TEKNIKAL DELEGASI JABATAN PENGAIRAN DAN SALIRAN (JPS) KE MAKMAL HIDRAULIK DAN INSTRUMENTASI, NAHRIM

Makmal Hidraulik dan Instrumentasi, NAHRIM hari ini telah menerima kunjungan delegasi daripada Bahagian Pengurusan Zon Pantai, JPS Malaysia. Delegasi yang terdiri daripada 15 orang pegawai ini telah diketuai oleh En. Al Imran bin Abdul Manan.

Tujuan utama lawatan ini adalah untuk memperkukuh jalinan ukhuwah serta menjadi platform perbincangan dua hala dalam meneroka potensi kerjasama strategik. Fokus utama perbincangan tertumpu kepada aspek Penyelidikan dan Pembangunan (R&D) dalam sektor air, khususnya bagi pengurusan zon pantai yang lebih mampan.

Semoga perkongsian kepakaran dan sinergi antara kedua-dua agensi ini mampu memberikan impak yang signifikan dalam memacu agenda pembangunan sektor air negara.

27 APRIL 2026 | TECHNICAL VISIT BY THE DELEGATION FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE (DID) TO HYDRAULIC AND INSTRUMENTATION LABORATORY, NAHRIM

The Hydraulic and Instrumentation Laboratory, NAHRIM today received a delegation from the Coastal Zone Management Division of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Malaysia. The delegation, consisting of 15 officers, was led by En. Al Imran bin Abdul Manan.

The primary objective of this visit was to strengthen professional ties and serve as a platform for bilateral discussions in exploring potential strategic collaborations. The discussion focused on Research and Development (R&D) aspects within the water sector, particularly for more sustainable coastal zone management.

It is hoped that this exchange of expertise and synergy between the two agencies will deliver a significant impact in driving the nation's water sector development agenda.
