🏗️ Project Reference | PETRONAS TAPS — EPC Pipeline Protection
Flakeshield Sdn Bhd was appointed by main contractorand Petronas as the coating contractor for the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) of Pipeline Protection for Takungan Air Pinggiran Sungai (TAPS) — a PETRONAS project.
Here's how we delivered to PETRONAS-grade standards 👇
🔵 Surface Preparation — Conductivity test conducted on all blasting abrasives to ensure zero soluble salt contamination before coating application
🔵 Adhesion Testing — Pull-off adhesion tests carried out on test panels to verify coating bond strength meets specification
🔵 Holiday Testing — 100% inspection for coating discontinuities — pinholes, voids, thin spots — zero defects accepted

When shutdown is not an option — this is the alternative.

This video shows a client-qualified composite pipe repair, witnessed, tested, and accepted under controlled conditions at AIG Holding Sdn Bhd.

What matters to operations:
- No welding
- No hot work
- Minimal downtime
- Field-applicable by trained teams
- Pressure tested and proven

This repair methodology has already been applied multiple times on actual client assets, not just in theory.
The mock-up shown here served as a formal qualification for one of our partner clients, demonstrating repeatability and workmanship control.

This approach is particularly relevant for teams managing:
• Aging pipelines
• Localised corrosion defects
• Temporary repairs until the next shutdown

Sincere appreciation to AIG Holding Sdn Bhd for their trust, technical engagement, and willingness to witness and validate Flakeshield Sdn Bhd
