Solar math without the headache Part 1: kWp vs kWh

Solar terms can sound confusing, but kWp and kWh are actually quite different. ☀️

kWp tells you about the power capacity of a solar PV system. For example, a 5 kWp system has a rated power capacity of 5 kWp.

kWh tells you about the amount of energy generated or used over a period of time. So if your solar system generates 20 kWh in a day, that means it produced 20 kWh of energy that day.

An easy way to remember it 🤓
💧 kWp = how fast the water can flow
💧 kWh = how much water you actually have

So, when you see solar specifications, remember:
kWp = power
kWh = energy
