🚨 WORLD SOIL DAY 2025 CELEBRATION 🚨 STRENGTHENING SUSTAINABLE NATIONAL SOIL MANAGEMENT

The Malaysian Department of Agriculture (DOA) concluded the World Soil Day (WSD) 2025 celebration on December 5, 2025, in Klang, emphasizing the importance of sustainable soil management.

In line with the global theme "Healthy Soils for Prosperous Cities," the ceremony, officiated by the Director-General of Agriculture, YBhg. Dato’ Nor Sam Alwi, highlighted soil's role as a strategic national asset in facing challenges such as urbanization, climate change, and ensuring food security.

Government Commitment Reinforced! The Malaysian Government, through Budget 2026, has allocated RM100 Million for paddy development and RM20 Million for rice field soil fertility, demonstrating serious commitment to preserving soil resources.

DOA Enhances Soil Management: The DOA continues to strengthen initiatives including:

Soil series studies, geospatial technology, and digital databases.

Recognizing the critical role of the mySOILDOCTOR program in the field.

Strategic cooperation with Universiti Malaya (UM) through the UM Soil Doctor Program to empower national soil management innovation.

Soil is the foundation for productivity, urban welfare, and the future of our national food security. Let us take care of our soil!
