Last Sunday, SCCS held our GoBald Satellite Shave with Grolite in Sibu 💛
32 brave individuals shaved their heads in solidarity with children battling cancer and their families. With the generous support of our donors, supporters, and the Sibu community, we raised over RM100,000 to bring hope to the children! Thank you to Grolite Group 天津 for believing in our mission, and to everyone in Sibu who stood with us to help kids fighting cancer!
Behind those 32 shaves were stories of courage, compassion, and hope. One story, in particular, reminded us why SCCS exists and why we must continue this journey of hope.
Bapa Rizqi, Encik Nazif, and his family travelled all the way from Asajaya to Sibu to visit Izyan, Rizqi’s ward mate during treatment, who is still receiving treatment at Hospital Sibu and is also one of our SCCS children.
Encik Nazif had already shaved his head at our Kuching GoBald event just a month earlier, but he chose to do it again in Sibu. His hair had barely grown back, but his dedication never faded. It was a small gesture that carried a big meaning – a tribute to his late son Rizqi and a heartfelt way to give back to SCCS.
Even after losing little Rizqi, the family continues to support SCCS whenever they can.
When asked why, Encik Nazif simply said:
“Sebab SCCS sudah bantu saya, saya cuma bantu balik sebaiknya.”
(“Because SCCS helped my family, I just want to give back the best I can.”)
That is what GoBald and SCCS are all about. Families helping families, and turning gratitude into hope.
