UB Group has completed the first SMART Engineer Training, focused on 3D Manufacturing Simulation to optimize factory operations.

The program reflects our continued commitment to developing automation engineering capabilities through industry collaboration, with montratec GmbH supporting the training as Authorized Training Assessor.

UB Group has been officially appointed by NCIA as an authorized Centre of Excellence (CoE) Provider under the NCER Technology Innovation Centre (NTIC) framework.

Through this appointment, eligible companies can access a 50:50 matching grant of up to RM100,000 per project when engaging UB Group for automation deployments, engineering consultancy, proof-of-concept (POC) design, and technology adoption initiatives.

YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang, visited the Advanced Packaging Institute & Research Center (APIRC) today, marking a significant advancement in the region’s semiconductor strategy.

Driven by SiliconCONNECT, APIRC serves as a collaborative hub designed to accelerate innovation in advanced packaging and transition the region toward high-value manufacturing. Central to the facility's operations is the integration of UB Group’s intelligent material handling systems. This automation infrastructure is essential for bridging the gap between research and commercial-scale production, ensuring the facility meets the rigorous demands of modern semiconductor workflows.

As one of the key partners in Local Industry Capability Development, UB Group provides the end-to-end automation solutions that support the ecosystem APIRC is building to strengthen Penang’s global competitiveness.

UB Group was honoured to be part of the official launch of the NCER Technology Innovation Centre (NTIC) in Bayan Lepas, Penang, with Chairman BC Tan joining industry leaders and ecosystem partners in supporting this significant initiative to strengthen Malaysia's innovation and advanced manufacturing ecosystem.

The occasion also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) and the Advanced Packaging Institute and Research Centre (APIRC), aimed at developing 12 local companies and attracting RM8.5 billion in investments by 2030.

Driven by APIRC, NTIC will support the development of advanced semiconductor packaging capabilities and accelerate technology commercialization. As part of the APIRC ecosystem, UB Group, alongside Silicon Connect, Trinity, and regional ecosystem partners, contributes expertise in automation, digitalization, and intelligent material flow technologies to support future-ready manufacturing capabilities.

The launch was graced by YB Tuan Haji Akmal Nasrullah bin Haji Mohd Nasir, Minister of Economy, and YB Tuan Goh Choon Aik, Penang Exco for Trade and Community Unity.

UB Group has joined the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC) as a technology partner for the newly launched initiative SINERGI.

During the launch event, UB Group CEO Hawke Tan accepted the partnership certificate from the Menteri Besar of Selangor, Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari. The presentation was witnessed by Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the Raja Muda of Selangor.

Through the SINERGI Living Lab, the focus centers on bridging advanced industrial technology with practical talent development. Today, UB Group is honored to be announced as one of the ATE companies at the official launch of the Penang Automation, Test and Equipment (ATE) Campus. The ceremony was graced by Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow, marking a strategic initiative by InvestPenang to drive Malaysia’s industrial transformation.
