About the Role:
• SJM Security Solar Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Anti-Poaching Project Manager to lead and coordinate conservation efforts focused on protecting wildlife from illegal poaching activities. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact in safeguarding endangered species and preserving biodiversity in one of the most ecologically important regions in Namibia.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of anti-poaching operations and strategies.
• Supervise and support field rangers and anti-poaching units to ensure effective patrols and enforcement.
• Work closely with local communities, government authorities, and partner organizations to build collaborative conservation efforts.
• Monitor and analyse poaching data to inform tactical decisions and adapt project priorities.
• Manage project budgets, logistics, and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and safety standards in all field operations.
• Provide regular reports and updates to donors, stakeholders, and organizational leadership.
• Applicant must be part of the farm management team.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in wildlife protection, conservation, or law enforcement, preferably in anti-poaching or protected area management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work in remote, challenging environments under pressure.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Familiarity with technologies used in anti-poaching efforts (e.g. GPS, camera traps, SMART, drones).
• Relevant qualifications in conservation, environmental science, criminology, or a related field will be an advantage.
• Experience working with local communities and understanding of community-based conservation approaches is an advantage.
• Must be willing to work away from home for long periods of time.
