A diverse workforce is far more than a collection of visible differences. Too often, diversity is reduced to what we can see such as race, gender, age, or disability. But true diversity runs deeper. It reflects the richness of people’s unique lived experiences, their perspectives, their thinking styles, and the values they bring to the workplace. In the Namibian context, a genuinely diverse workforce is one that embraces every person as they are, the full human being behind the credentials, job title, or demographic category.

When individuals feel their differences are not merely tolerated but valued, they are more likely to participate meaningfully, contribute openly, and see themselves as part of the organization’s shared purpose. For many organizations, diversity is still measured by statistics on a spreadsheet.

• Official Namdeb vacancies are only advertised through recognised and verified channels, namely the company’s official website, Namdeb social media pages (LinkedIn and Facebook) and newspaper publications
• Namdeb does not request applicants to submit CVs or job applications via WhatsApp
• Namdeb does not charge any fees at any stage of its recruitment process

The public is strongly urged to:
• Exercise caution when responding to job advertisements claiming to be from Namdeb.
• Verify all vacancies by visiting Namdeb’s official communication platforms.

Any communication requesting payment, personal banking details, or confidential information in exchange for employment should be treated as fraudulent. Namdeb is taking this matter seriously and is working with the relevant authorities to address these fraudulent activities.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗱𝗲𝗯

On Tuesday, 19 May 2026, representatives from the Employment Equity Commission facilitated Affirmative Action (AA) training for Namdeb’s Affirmative Action Consultative Committee and other key stakeholders, as part of the company’s ongoing Affirmative Action (AA) awareness and transformation efforts.

The session built on prior engagements held last year and focused on strengthening understanding around employment equity, inclusive workplace practices, and meaningful transformation within the organisation.

Speaking on the importance of the training, Gino Brinkmann, review officer at the Employment Equity Commission, highlighted the need to move beyond viewing Affirmative Action as a compliance exercise and instead embrace it as a lived, everyday commitment. “AA is not a once off activity that is done at the end of a reporting period but something that you do every day and should become second nature. Organisations need to critically reflect on their HR Audits, policies and even the unwritten practices to ensure they genuinely support employment equity and inclusion” he said.

Namdeb remains committed to fostering constructive engagement with relevant stakeholders such as the Employment Equity Commission in advancing sustainable and inclusive workplace transformation.

On Wednesday, 06 May 2026, Namdeb was proud to host a group of University of Namibia Media Studies Honours students who are currently visiting Oranjemund as part of a community journalism experiential learning programme.

During the visit, Namdeb’s Project Manager for Building Forever, Mrs Ursula Witbooi, presented on Oranjemund’s transition into an open town and the company’s continued contribution to the town’s development.

The group of 15 students had the opportunity to engage with Namdeb on topics relating to Oranjemund, while gathering information and content for their practical assessment.

Namdeb remains proud to support academic learning and foster meaningful partnerships with academic institutions.
