• The pilot phase of the Daures Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme Village has been completed.

• The project will use solar-powered green hydrogen to produce ammonia for ammonium sulphate fertiliser.
• Phase one focused on horticulture production, while phase two will introduce on-site fertiliser manufacturing.
• The project has received N$230 million in Namibia-Germany funding and support from UNIDO.
• Local communities benefit through a 10% shareholding, employment opportunities, and SME participation.

• WIA Gold secured funding to advance the Kokoseb Gold Project through feasibility, engineering, and permitting stages.
• The Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) is expected to provide greater clarity on the project's development pathway.
• Kokoseb has the potential to produce up to 177,000 ounces of gold annually.
• If developed, the project could become one of Namibia's next major gold mines alongside Navachab, Otjikoto and the emerging Twin Hills project.

Australian mining company WIA Gold said May 20 that it plans to raise 92 million Australian dollars ($65.8 million) to help advance its Kokoseb gold project in Namibia.

The fundraising will mainly support work linked to the project’s definitive feasibility study (DFS), expected in the second half of 2026. The company said the operation will take the form of a share placement already backed by several institutional investors. The offer is expected to close May 26.

Etango early works reach 92% completion

Construction early works at Bannermans Etango Uranium Project are moving rapidly, with the critical 24-month bulk earthworks contract now approximately 92% complete.

Bannerman Energy Managing Director and Chief Executive Gavin Chamberlain, confirmed today that activities are tracking squarely on budget and schedule.

Chamberlain said that Earthworks are currently concentrated on defining the heap leach pad, wet plant terraces, and process solution ponds, making the overall physical footprint of the future mine increasingly visible on site.

“Of particular note is that the 24- month bulk earthworks contract is now more than 90% complete, a substantial achievement and a key investment in derisking the critical path for full-scale construction of the Etango Project,” he said.
