Can you guess the distance?
This controlled blast forms part of ongoing construction on a new road project—an impressive reminder of the precision and planning behind infrastructure development.

Blast Challenge:
How far (in meters) do you think the videographer was positioned from the blast?
The person with the closest guess will win an exclusive opportunity to visit the site and meet the engineer behind the project.
Drop your guess in the comments (before 26 May 2026 at 5pm Windhoek time).

Congratulations Salomo Shikwaya on Your Graduation!

We are proud to celebrate Salomo Shikwaya, who recently graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). Salomo joined Lithon as an intern in January and has already been contributing with great dedication. We’re excited to see him grow even further now that he’s officially a qualified Mechanical Engineer! At Lithon, we’re committed to developing Namibia’s young engineering talent and delivering innovative, sustainable solutions across the country.

Congratulations and welcome to the next chapter, Salomo!

Across Namibia’s coastline, critical infrastructure is being put to the test.

The Namport Conditions Survey is a 5-year initiative led by Lithon Project Consultants, covering the Port of Walvis Bay, Syncrolift, and the Port of Lüderitz. Through detailed inspections and the use of the STRUMAN system and DER rating methodology, the team captures key data on structural condition and environmental impact, including exposure to harsh ocean and desert elements.

This ongoing assessment supports smarter, data-driven maintenance and long-term planning.

In the north of Namibia, engineering is doing more than building infrastructure, it's helping communities grow.

The Mashare Irrigation Scheme is a 372-hectare project designed to unlock agricultural potential through smart, multi-disciplinary engineering. From pump stations and irrigation systems to roads, power supply, and storage facilities, every element is carefully planned to support sustainable crop production and long-term success.

But beyond the technical scope, this project is about people, working closely with communities, understanding the land through soil analysis, and creating systems that empower local farming and food security.

Driving sustainable agriculture. Supporting livelihoods. Building a stronger future.

In Oranjemund, sustainability is taking shape, layer by layer.

The Oranjemund Landfill Phase 2 project is a step forward in responsible waste management, supporting the Town Council’s commitment to reducing environmental impact and protecting natural resources.

Designed as one of the most advanced landfill systems in Namibia, the project includes engineered waste cells, a leachate dam, and a materials recycling facility. Every layer, from HDPE geomembranes to protective filtration systems, is carefully constructed to prevent groundwater contamination and safely manage waste.

Beyond the technical design, this project reflects a shared responsibility: to build cleaner, safer communities and support a more sustainable future for generations to come.
