Structural Designer
WV Manufacturing – Windhoek, Namibia

Since 2013, WV Manufacturing has been proudly 100% Namibian-owned, delivering durable, cost-effective, eco-friendly steel structures — from affordable housing to premium projects — across the country and into Angola.

We're growing and looking for a talented Structural Designer to strengthen our design team and help shape the future of steel construction in Namibia.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and detail light gauge steel (cold-formed steel) framing systems, roof trusses, wall panels, and complete lightweight steel structures in compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
- Perform structural calculations for loads, stresses, connections, and member sizing using specialized software.
- Produce accurate shop drawings, fabrication details, and installation plans.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and our in-house manufacturing & installation teams.
- Conduct site evaluations when needed and ensure designs support fast, high-quality builds.
- Contribute to innovative, sustainable solutions that make steel structures accessible to all income levels.

Requirements
- Qualification in Structural/Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or related field an advantageous.
- Proven experience in structural design, ideally with light gauge steel, cold-formed steel framing, roof trusses, or similar lightweight steel systems.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, specialized CFS tools like FrameCad, VERTEX software, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of steel design codes/standards applicable in Namibia/Southern Africa.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under deadlines.
- Namibian citizen or valid work permit.
- Passion for construction innovation and supporting local growth.
