To support our growing operations, we are looking for a dedicated Electrician with a strong background in Solar PV design and installation to join our team as a Technical Supervisor.
Job Description:
As Technical Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, ex*****on, and successful completion of small to medium-sized solar energy projects. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including:
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Collaborate with clients and the sales team to understand project requirements, set project objectives, and create detailed project plans, including timelines and resource allocation.
Solar PV System Design: Lead the design phase, ensuring that solar PV systems are optimized for energy generation, efficiency, and safety while meeting project-specific requirements.
Procurement: Manage the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
Installation Supervision: Oversee installation teams, ensuring that solar PV systems are installed correctly, according to design specifications, and in compliance with safety regulations.
Quality Control: Implement rigorous quality control procedures to maintain the highest quality standards in installations.
Team Management: Manage project teams, assign tasks, and provide guidance to ensure project goals are met.
Cost Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs.
Documentation: Maintain detailed project records, including progress reports, installation procedures, and maintenance records.
Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any questions or concerns.
Ensure that all projects adhere to Nampower regulations and other relevant industry standards.
Troubleshooting: Address electrical and technical issues that may arise during the installation and maintenance phases.
Travel: Willingness and ability to travel to project sites nationwide for project inspections, and client meetings.
Language Skills: Being able to read and write in English and Afrikaans for effective communication with colleagues and clients.
Computer Skills: Utilize Microsoft Office applications to maintain project records, communicate effectively, and create reports.
Safety: Prioritize safety throughout all project phases, following safety protocols and ensuring the well-being of the team and clients.
Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license for traveling to project sites and meetings.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Certified Electrician with relevant qualifications.
Extensive experience in Solar PV system design, installation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Leadership skills and the ability to manage project teams effectively.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to safety and compliance with industry standards.
