From idea to installation!

Our smart 3-source automatic changeover system is now fully live at Embedded TechLab.

What started as a concept is now a fully working digital smart automatic three-source changeover system, built to intelligently switch between generator, solar, and grid power (NEPA) depending on availability. The goal was to ensure an uninterrupted power supply while giving better control, visibility, and protection over energy usage.

This build went through several months of design, testing, and refinement; from PCB development and firmware programming to enclosure design, wiring, and final installation. With features like dual operation mode, mobile connectivity, real-time monitoring, and voltage protection, the system is designed to be practical and reliable for real-world use.

This final version reflects the effort put into multiple iterations, and it’s satisfying to see it now actively powering and monitoring operations at Embedded TechLab.

Special thanks to NextPCB for supporting the prototyping and production process, helping us achieve a clean and reliable hardware finish. More refinements and real-world deployments are in progress, and full documentation will be shared soon to

Smart Agriculture IoT System V3 - Technical Engineering Overview

Our engineering team MEmbedded TechLab has successfully developed a sophisticated PCB design for our Smart Agriculture IoT System V3, integrating multiple sensor interfaces and communication modules on a single compact board.

Technical Architecture:

Central Processing Unit: Built around the ESP32 microcontroller platform, providing dual-core processing with integrated WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities for reliable IoT connectivity.

Multi-Layer PCB Design: Our custom 4-layer PCB layout optimizes signal integrity while accommodating high-density component placement. The board features dedicated power planes and ground planes to minimize electromagnetic interference.

Sensor Interface Circuitry: The PCB incorporates analog-to-digital conversion circuits for soil moisture sensors, temperature and humidity sensing via DHT11 interface, and air quality monitoring through MQ135 gas sensor integration.

Communication Modules: Integrated SIM800L GSM/GPRS module with dedicated antenna connections, GPS receiver with u-blox chipset for precise location tracking, and WiFi connectivity through the ESP32's built-in radio.

Power Management: Advanced power regulation circuitry supporting both mains power and battery backup operation, with voltage monitoring and low-power sleep modes for extended field deployment.

Relay Control System: High-current relay drivers for pump control and irrigation system automation, with optical isolation for safe operation in agricultural environments.

Environmental Protection: The PCB design includes conformal coating compatibility and strategic component placement to withstand moisture, dust, and temperature variations typical in agricultural settings.

The complete system demonstrates how modern PCB design techniques can integrate complex IoT functionality into a robust, field-deployable agricultural monitoring solution.

Our engineering approach combines proven circuit design principles with cutting-edge IoT technology to deliver reliable performance in demanding agricultural environments.

M25 Gateway – Custom LoRa Gateway!

The M25 Gateway is a purpose-built LoRa communication board designed at MEmbedded TechLab to manage and monitor multiple remote devices in real-time.
Developed around the ESP32-WROOM-32D, the system integrates:

-Long-range LoRa connectivity for multiple remote devices
-SIM868 module for GSM/GPRS and GPS capabilities
-Battery management with LM2596 and TP4056 modules
-16x2 I2C LCD for signal quality and device activity display
-Onboard alert and interaction components for field diagnostics

This gateway enables the reliable reception and aggregation of data from distributed sensors and transmitters, with support for server integration and offline operation.

Infrared Sensor for Object Detection & Counting

Here is a designed and assembled infrared-based sensor system that detects obstructions by using an IR transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX). When an object blocks the IR beam, the circuit triggers a pulse, activating a buzzer and an LED.

Applications:
-Automated object counting in production lines
-Security and intrusion detection
-Speed measurement in automation systems

This simple yet effective system is built using an LM358 comparator, BC547 transistors, and passive components. The sensitivity is adjustable via a potentiometer, making it adaptable for different environments.
