The Nigeria India Business Council (NIBC) held its inaugural board meeting on October 16, 2024, marking a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral business ties between Nigeria and India. The meeting, which took place at the NIBC Secretariat, was chaired by Our Chairman, Sir Dr. Emeka Offor, President of the NIBC.
The event brought together prominent figures from both nations' business communities, including prominent board members, including Murtala Mohammed, Dr. Dere Otubu, Bakare Oladipo Mudasiru, Salisu Kabara, and Yunusa Yakubu. Other notable attendees included His Excellency Ambassador Humphrey Orjiako, AIG Chris Ezike (Rtd), and Dr. Steve D**e. Dele Kelvin Oye, President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACIMA), was present as an observer.
Sir Dr. Emeka Offor, who is also the Founder of Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, emphasized the significance of the council's establishment. "This council represents a crucial step in enhancing the Nigeria-India partnership," he stated. "With our dedicated board and the support of our Director General, Barr Chijioke James, we are well-positioned to facilitate greater economic cooperation and boost bilateral trade."
