SUSTAINABILITY PART 1
SUSTAINABILITY: is the ability to sustain something, in ecology is a means of configuring civilization and human activity so that society, its members and its economies are able to meet the needs and express their greatest potential in the present, while preserving biodiversity and natural ecosystems, planning and acting for the ability to maintain these ideals for future generations.
There Are 3 dimensions of Sustainability;
-ECONOMY
-SOCIETY
-ENVIRONMENT
ECONOMY
There is Economy and There is sustainable or Green Economy.
Economy : An economy is a system of making and trading things of value. It is usually divided into goods (physical things) and services (things done by people). It assumes there is medium of exchange, which in the modern world is a system of finance. This makes trade possible.
Sustainable or Green Economy: is an economy that aims at reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities, also aim for sustainable development of a nation without degrading the environment. It is closely related with ecological economic, but has a more politically applied focus. In 2011 UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME(UNEP) green economy report argues “that to be green an economy must not only be efficient but also fair. Fairness implies recognizing global and country level equity dimensions, particularly in assuring a just transition to an economy that is low carbon, resource efficient, and socially inclusive”. When it comes to green economy we deal with the beautification of the environment and how can it influence national growth. that is why green economy is based on these six main sectors.
-GREEN BUILDINGS OR SUSTAINABLE BUILDING.
-RENEWABLE ENERGY.
-WATER MANAGEMENT.
-WASTE MANAGEMENT.
-LAND MANAGEMENT.
-SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT.
