Before you pick that 5 or 6 kva inverter for your 15.216kW solar + 17.5kVA load, here are the key things you MUST check first:
1. Load Type & Surge
• Motor Loads: Freezers, washing machines, sewing machines, ACs all have 3-5x starting current
• Your 76A running can become 200A+ on startup if 3-4 motors start together
• Solution: Get inverter with 200% surge for 10s and Type C breakers on motor circuits
2. PV Input Rating
• Your array: 24 × 634W = 15.216kW DC
• Check: Inverter MPPT must take ≥16kW PV and VOC ≥ 600V
• 12 panels in series @ 49Voc = 588V. Too close to 600V limit. In cold mornings VOC rises.
• Solution: 2 strings of 12, but confirm inverter max VOC is 800V-1000V
3. Battery Voltage & Charging
• 48V System: For 20kW inverter you need ≥400A battery discharge
• 30kWh or 65kWh bank: Can the BMS deliver 400A continuous?
• Charge Current: 15kW PV can push 15,000W / 48V = 312A into battery. Battery must accept that.
