​The Nigerian Institution of Highways and Transportation Engineers (NIHTE), Awka Chapter, successfully concluded its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) with the formal inauguration of its 4th Chairman and new Executive Committee.

​Leadership Transition
​We extend our sincere appreciation and kudos to the Immediate Past Chairman, Engr. Jude Mary Nwoti and his Executive Committee for a successful and seamless transition.

​We warmly congratulate the newly inaugurated leadership, ably led by the new Chairman, Engr. Udechukwu Onismus Obianyo, praying for a productive and impactful tenure.

​The AGM featured a highly informative technical session centered on the theme: "Integrated Approaches to Rural Road Development: Engineering Innovation and Contract Framework."

*NSE President Declares 2024 NIHTE Conference and AGM Open in Abuja*
The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, officially declared open the 2024 Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Institution of Highway and Transportation Engineers (NIHTE). The event, which also featured the 4th Fellowship Conferment Ceremony, took place at the NSE Auditorium in Abuja.

Themed “Rural Road Infrastructure: Catalyst, Panacea, and Cornerstone of Food Security,” NSE President highlighted the critical role of transportation networks in bolstering agricultural productivity and ensuring food security across Nigeria.

Delivering the keynote address was the National Coordinator of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), Engr. Aminu Bodinga Mohammed, who provided valuable insights into the significance of rural road development in achieving sustainable economic growth.

The event was hosted by the National Chairman of NIHTE, Engr. Saidu Hassan, FNSE, who emphasized the importance of leveraging infrastructure as a tool for national development.
