Hon. Barr. Julius Arinze Ogbuke
The greatest act of leadership is mentorship. If what you've learnt, achieve, accomulated and accomplished dies with you, then you're a generational failure. If anyone should tell you that good leaders do not exist in Nigeria, then quickly tell the person that he/she is unconscious of what they have just said.
Meet Hon. Barr. Julius Arinze Ogbuke, a visionary dynamic outstanding Nigerian in diaspora, who has made Ezeagu Igbudu proud, by acquiring the best council chairman in Nigeria, in the year, 2011, by the Nigerian Local govt chairmen grand award. Hon. Barr. Julius Arinze Ogbuke, who hails from Olo, in Ezeagu Local Govt Area, of Enugu state, has been substancially equipped and heavily armed with the true quality legacies he has achieved in Enugu state, and Nigeria at large.
On the 4th of January, 2008, he was sworn in as the council chairman of Ezeagu Local Govt Area, and the realization of that day was on the outcome of this good deeds, philantropic nature and great passion and love that he has for the great people of Ezeagu LGA, and Enugu state at large. The exposures to the problems of his people in the most pathetic degree brought him face to face with uniquely unmitigated cases of infrastructural decay in the Local Govt.
Now, gospel cannot be preached without facts; let us take it to his achievements.
In the year, 2008-2012, Hon. Barr. Julius Ogbuke as an exceptional leader of Ezeagu, came up with his reformation agenda, under the road constructions, painstakingly constructed the 9th-mile -Oghe-Olo asphalt road, which took about 39km in partnership with the Enugu state Govt, under the administration of His Excellency, Gov. Sullivan Iheanacho Chime. He also constructed the asphalted express at Amudu to Ishiagu road at Ezema Olo, the over 8km Akama-Oghe to Aguobu-owa road. The rehabilitation of Ugwuike Iwollo Okpogho to Ihuonyia road, the Agbaudala to Ogulogu road, the Amansiodo to Ihuonyia earth road which took about 10.1km afar. The Nkwo Ibite Olo earth road and the over 3.5km of Umana Ndiagu to Umene to Amandim road. The over 7.2km Ozom to Mgbabuowa, down to Umudim Mgbagbu-owa road and the Afia ofu Mgbagbu-owa to Awene Olo road. The Agbaja Umumba Ndiuno to Agbuobu-Ajalli road. The Ogodoma Awha Ndiagu road and the Evazu to Okpudo Obeleagu Umana road, Obinofia Ndiuno to Ihuezi, down to Heneke lake road, the over 12.5km Obeleagu, from Omoghu down to Umana road. He also constructed so many infrastructures like the Bridges across Duoo River, between Ezeagu and Uzo-Uwani, the bridge across Kalawa river between Mgbagbu-owa and Olo, the Ajali bridge at Umumba-Ndiuno, the bridge across Iyiefi river across Iwollo to Olo road, across Inyiefe river in Ndiagu Amandim Olo to Imezi Olo. Ngene Ajalija bridge at Mgbagbu-owa, Ngene Ezi bridge at Ogulogu Olo, and so many other coverts, coupled with the drainage systems and proper channels.
Under the educational sectors, he constructed a newly built, well equipped and furnished community primary schools at Akama-oghe, at Umudim/Umuaji Imezi-owa, at Ikenge Awha, he also built a sound 7 classroom blocks at community primary school Aguobu Umumba, at Amandim Olo, at Amankwo, at central school Obinofia Ndiuno, rehabilitation of community primary school Umudim Aguobu-owa, at Awha Ndiagu, Akama Oghe, at Awene/Ezema Olo, at Amankwo Oghe, Mgbagbu-owa, Ishiagu Ezema Olo, at Amankwo, at Ibite Olo, at Umudim Mgbagbu-owa, community primary school Ihuonyia, at Umana-Ndiagu. He also distributed dozens of motorcycles to all the teachers and principals in Ezeagu under his administration for quality educational system in Ezeagu LGA.
As the health of his constituents concerns him a lot, he transformed the health system of Ezeagu Local Govt Area, making some remarkable foot prints, by ensuring that he painstakingly built the Umana Ndiagu health centre, provided the necessary health care facilities and equipments, ensured that there are active health practisioners and quality attendance to the patients. He also extended his capacity, by ensuring that so many other health centres were built at Awha Ndiagu, Ibite Olo, Ogulogu Olo, Iwollo, Umumba Ndiagu, Imezi-owa, Aguobu-owa, Ibite Olo, Imezi-owa, Awha Imezi, while he helped in renovating so many other health centres that were at the state of dilapidations and extinctions. He also attracted some team of medical professionals in foreign countries to Ezeagu, to help eradicate poor health care challenges, and attract an enabling environment where the health of his constituents becomes a major priority. Not only that, he also disbursted so many medical equipments to the people of Ezeagu Local Govt Area, for easy medical outreach in the local government at large.
True leaders do not seek followers, followers are attracted to good leaders, because the distinguish themselves, to reduce the dependency factors of its followers. In the words of Audrey Hepburn; one of your hands is for helping yourself, and the other is for helping others. You don't have to be extremely rich to be generous. That is why Hon. Barr. Julius Arinze Ogbuke crossed the rubicon by organising so many poverty alliviation programmes, to ensure that poverty is totally erradicated in Ezeagu Local Govt and Enugu state at large.
Taking it down to the Agricultural sectors, he ensured that mechanized farming is brought into Ezeagu, for a commercial purpose of farming, through the provision of mechanized tractors, ploughs and planters; procurement of improved seedlings and fertilizers, which was distributed to the farmers in all the Ezeagu Local Govt Area at large, which encouraged a 10 hectares massive plantation of cassavas and maize farm at Imezi-Olo, over 5 hectares of cassava and maize inter-cropping farm at Aguobu-owa, which brought about the availability of food products, for a better living in Ezeagu LGA.
Not only that, under sports he made history, by making Ezeagu a champion, through the provision of necessary sports equipments and professional couches, that brought about the golden medal which was won by Luck Ejike, at the 2008 para-olympic games in Beijing, projecting the local government both nationally and internationally, as one of the best local governments in sports activities, in Enugu state, and Nigeria at large.
Leadership that serves only its generation is destined to fail. If your vision dies with you, then you're a failure. One of the most remarkable things that Hon. Barr. Julius Arinze Ogbuke achieved was to have a better Ezeagu, full of so many basic amenities, infrastructural developments, social amenities, good educational backgrounds, quality and affordable health centres, rural and community development services, and poverty alliviation programmes. In addition to this, personal determinations, zeal to deliver dividends of democracy has always been his vision, mission, aims and objectives.
We show a profound appreciation for your love, magnitude and charity towards humanity. If given the mandate to serve his people once small, at the Federal House of representatives, Udi/Ezeagu Federal constituency, he's going to be the Moses of our time; who shall lead his people out from Egypt, into the promised land.
