This is what intentional public infrastructure should look like.

Clean lines. Solid finishing. Attention to detail. A structure that doesn’t just stand, it speaks. In a time when many public projects are hurriedly executed and poorly finished, it’s refreshing to see a building delivered with this level of care and standard.

The design and finishing give a vibe comparable to what you’d expect in well-developed Western educational facilities, functional, dignified, and built to last.

Quality public buildings inspire confidence, protect public funds, and most importantly, create environments that enhance learning and productivity.

More of this. Less of the mediocrity.

Queen’s Cinema in the Dugbe area is a historic one-story building that once held such cultural significance, it lent its name to the entire community, a name that endures to this day.

Although it has long been repurposed as a shopping complex, the building’s original name remains visibly etched on its façade, offering a rare glimpse into the past for those too young to remember its heyday in the 1980s.

Queen’s Cinema holds layers of collective memory, standing as a quiet witness to a vibrant era. Sadly, it has now been demolished to make way for a more modern shopping complex, another reminder of how quickly our tangible links to history can disappear.

Preserving such landmarks isn’t just about saving buildings, it’s about safeguarding the stories, values, and identities that shape our cultural heritage.

The architectural landscape of the Lagos skyline serves as a powerful inspiration, encouraging ambition while sparking thought, evoking emotions, and daring one to dream.

A few days ago, while driving through the city, several buildings in this slide caught my eye—most notably, the Kings Tower building, home to Microsoft HQ at 24 Glover Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. I first came across this project through a report on during my research on contemporary urban architecture.

Who knows the last building in the slides ? Why is it incomplete and abandoned ?

No family compound has ruled has Olubadan more than twice in our close to 200yrs history. However, a particular family is aiming of being the first to rule for the record third time as such it becomes important to do a restoration of this traditional palace that onced housed two former Olubadan of Ibadan Land.

This project affords us the opportunity of exploring some of the old traditonal building materials and their strengths, methods of construction and mechanisms adopted.

Reintegrating modern building materials and techniques enables our artisans, interns and technicians a different building construction, maintenance and project management approaches.

This is a legacy project that will epitomize RETROFITTING and RESTORATION.
