⏳ The Old Man & The Marble Jar
An old man walked into a coffee shop holding a glass jar filled to the brim with large marbles.
A young man sitting nearby asked him, "Sir, why are you carrying around a jar of marbles?"
The old man smiled and said, "Every Sunday morning, I sit down and count my marbles. I calculated that if I live to be 75 years old, I have about 3,900 Sundays in my entire life. So at age 55, I filled this jar with 1,000 marbles—one for every Sunday I had left."
He took one marble out, placed it in his pocket, and continued:
"Every Sunday, I take one marble out and throw it away. Watching them disappear reminds me of what truly matters. It stops me from complaining about small things, stressing over tiny arguments, or delaying time with the people I love. Because once a marble is gone, it’s gone forever."
Then he looked at the young man and said: "Today, I just threw away my very last marble. So every extra day I wake up now is a bonus."
