As the problem of power generation continues to mount in the country, innovation of alternatives power source is on the increase to overcome the perennial power challenges facing the poor, middle class and the rich in
the society. The 5th edition of the Alternative Power Exhibition is coming up with a bang at the Blue Roof of the Lagos Television Ikeja from July 29th – August 3rd, 2013, with the theme ‘Save the Earth, Power Green’. The annual event which is organized by FOLUB Eletrik Servz in conjunction with the Lagos Television will bring to life different products that improvisefor the scarce electricity inthe homes, offices, industries and country as a whole. The new technologies in wind power, solar energy, turbine wind, inverters are categories of alternatives for use in exchange for the unavailable electricity. Some other products that will be in display include but not limited to solar light, lanterns, fans, refrigerator, cooker/ gel powered stones, solar computer, children games, chargers, amongst others. The renewable energy with the use of inverters/batteries is efficient to compliment electricity without having to run generator 24/7.This year’s theme “Save the Earth, Power Green”will speak to wellbeing of Nigerians to conserve energy and make use of other sources which are environmental friendly. Consumers are invited from all walks of life to participate and gain knowledge of these various products available from renowned organizations. This year’s exhibition is gathering momentum with lined up activities to mark the 5th edition with the reward of loyal Exhibitors over the past five years, for their consistency and innovation. There will also be a raffle draws for consumers and general public who will partake in the official opening and the closing ceremony of the events. Dignitaries, professors and other captains of industry in the related field will be in attendance to endorse and participate in these eventful outings of the Exhibition. Campaign for the alternative sources to make environment clean and avoid burning of carbon or polluting environment cannot be over emphasized. As this will promote healthy living and reduce cost on the long run for Nigerian’ survival. Just to see that many industries are in extinction due to the huge cost in providing energy source for their businesses. Homes are on the average spending of a minimum of N1,500 to improvise for the non-availability of electricity that should have been free for all use.
