| Our Step Forward team recently visited St. Augustine Primary School, Ikot Omin, Calabar (a school adopted by Northwest Petroleum & Gas Company). This project is part of our One Book, One Pupil Initiative.
During the visit, pupils participated in engaging and interactive reading activities, including a session centered on The Drummer Boy by Cyprian Ekwensi. The session stimulated active participation, ignited imagination, and strengthened the pupils' appreciation for storytelling.
As part of our commitment, we donated copies of the book, along with essential writing materials, to support their academic development and encourage continuous learning beyond the classroom.
The One Book, One Pupil initiative is designed to foster a sustainable reading culture in Nigerian public schools. By improving access to quality learning resources, we aim to bridge literacy gaps and equip pupils with essential skills such as decoding, fluency, and comprehension, thereby laying a strong foundation for their future.
