During a recent familiarisation tour of port terminals in Lagos, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Chairman, Governing Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), and other members of the board visited Snake Island Port in Snake Island Integrated Free Zone (SIIFZ).

Discussions focused on the port's development in alignment with the NPA’s mandate of enhanced operational efficiency and sustainable maritime growth.

The Chairman commended Nigerdock and SIIFZ’s progress in advancing Snake Island Port through strategic global partnerships and continued investment in critical infrastructure.

We recently welcomed the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration & Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola to Snake Island Integrated Free Zone (SIIFZ) for the inspection of a Deep Blue vessel; a special mission vessel used for maritime surveillance and security operations.

Received by the Managing Director of Snake Island Management Company, Semiu Akorede, and Nigerdock Sales Director, Adebola Adesoye, Dr. Mobereola commended the progress achieved and the technical sophistication of our shipyard operations.

His visit reinforces the alignment between NIMASA’s vision for building indigenous maritime capacity, and our commitment to continue driving industrial transformation through innovation, infrastructure development, and strategic collaboration.

Nigerdock Chairman, Maher Jarmakani, along with the Board and Management of Snake Island Integrated Free Zone, hosted the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, on a familiarisation tour of Snake Island Port. He was accompanied by senior officials from the NCS and the Ports Authority (NPA).

During the visit, the CG praised Nigerdock's growth and contributions to the Nigerian economy, noting its positive social impact, job creation, and adherence to regulatory compliance. More importantly, he underlined the commitment of the NCS to support its port operations, ease of doing business, and attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

At our town hall to discuss this year's theme, "Revolutionizing Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalization at Work" Alli Adeyemi, Assistant Director of Factories, and Timothy Soje, Assistant Chief Inspector of Factories, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment shared insight into how Artificial Intelligence and digitalization are transforming workplace safety and health practices.

At Nigerdock, safety is more than just a priority; it is a culture that is deeply ingrained in every aspect of our operations. Through continuous training, robust safety protocols, and proactive measures, we strive to continuously promote an environment that prioritises the well-being of its employees.
