PRESS RELEASE

URGENT PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT: LANDSLIDE BLOCKS ACCESS TO OBUDU RANCH RESORT

The Office of the Executive Chairman of the Obanliku Local Government Area wishes to inform the public of a major landslide that has blocked the access road to Obudu Ranch Resort.

Initial reports show that the affected part of the road is currently impassable to all vehicles and pedestrians. The incident poses a serious safety risk due to unstable terrain, with potential for more landslides, falling rocks, and further ground movement.

For public safety, residents, visitors, tourists, and all travelers are strongly advised to avoid the area until authorities complete thorough clearance and safety checks. Anyone within the resort or neighboring communities should stay in safe locations and wait for official instructions before traveling through the affected route.

The Executive Chairman, expressing concern over the situation, assured immediate action by relevant State and federal agencies to protect lives and property and to reopen this critical access route quickly.

The Obanliku Local Government Council remains dedicated to the safety and well-being of residents and visitors and will provide updates as the situation develops.

Members of the public are urged to share this information widely to raise awareness and prevent avoidable risks.
