The Paracas Candelabra is a prehistoric geoglyph located on the north face of the Paracas Peninsula in Pisco Bay, Peru. This large figure, carved about two feet into the ground, stands 595 feet (181 meters) tall. Stones surrounding the geoglyph are believed to be of a later date. Ceramics found nearby, dated to around 200 BC, link the Candelabra to the Paracas culture. While the exact purpose of the Candelabra remains unknown, it is thought to possibly represent a trident, which is associated with the god Viracocha in South American mythology. The geoglyph's size suggests it may have been used as a navigational aid for sailors, visible from up to 12 miles out to sea.
