"I usually don’t get involved in politics, I don’t talk about politics. In fact, in the industry, there are a couple of things they tell you, don’t discuss religion or politics. So you fall into that category where you say, “I don’t like to talk politics.”
That’s the most st&p!d statement anybody can make in Nigeria right now. We should be discussing. We should be talking about it. We should be trying to fix things. We should be inquiring about what is happening in the nation. There’s nothing like sitting on the fence anymore. It doesn’t make any s£ns£.
I have a child, so I’m not just thinking for myself. Today, I bought fuel for ₦1,300. We don’t have light. We’ve been running generator back to back. I live on the Island, so there’s no special treatment. We’ve been running generator nonstop.
So imagine diesel, most malls, companies, even down to the smallest barbershop, run on petrol or diesel. I’m blown away. I’m m£nt@lly stressed, and I can’t even l!£.
No light. Diesel is expensive. Fuel is expensive. My staff, a couple of them, were smiling, but at the same time letting me understand that even coming to work now is a problem. Because transport is hiking, meaning their salary is no longer enough.
In a very short period, I don’t understand why Nigeria is one of the first countries to be aff£cted by the w@r in Iran. A blessed nation, a resourceful country, is complaining about fuel prices because we are dependent on one refinery.
And even that refinery never got full support from the government. Meanwhile, the country has different refineries that are not functioning. I don’t understand.
I’m actually very, very d!sc0mbobul@ted. It is m£ss!ng with my brain, and my spirit is very a&gry. All the things I’m working for, are for what exactly?
Then I have some colleagues in my industry that are part of something they call “Relax, Tinubu is fixing Nigeria.” I’ve seen a couple of people. I hope you are asking the right questions. I hope you are actually standing for the right reasons..."
