AWARENESS ON ENERGY EFFICIENT COOKSTOVES (25TH MARCH 2025)
The Honorable Minister of Innovation Science & Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji through the Energy Commission of Nigeria(ECN) ably led by Dr Mustapha Abdullahi created awareness and distributed carbon-subsidized charcoal stoves to women in Enugu east senatorial zone of Enugu State. These stoves are environmentally friendly, saves time, saves energy, saves money, cooks fast and is smokeless. The honorable minister who was represented by the Director, national center for energy research and development (NCERD) UNN, Prof. Izuchukwu Okafor explained the importance of using such stove and also demonstrated how to effectively use it. The recipients were all happy and they took turns to appreciate the Honorable Minister and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding them worthy. The Honorable Minister promised to do more and said women of other senatorial zones of the state would also benefit from this initiative.
