CHAINING OF FOUNDATION – WHY IT MATTERS
One of the most important steps in making your building strong is chaining the foundation. Many people ignore it, but it plays a big role in the stability of your structure.
Chaining is the process of casting a reinforced concrete beam on top of the foundation walls before the blockwork continues. It ties all the foundation walls together, making them act as one unit.
Why is it important?
– It helps distribute loads evenly across the foundation.
– It prevents cracks in walls caused by uneven settlement.
– It gives the foundation walls extra strength and keeps them from shifting.
– It provides a solid and level base for your blockwork.
Think of chaining as the “belt” that holds everything in place, without it, your building is more vulnerable to cracks and movement.
👉 If you truly want your structure to stand the test of time, don’t skip chaining. It may cost you a little more today, but it saves you big problems tomorrow
