Are you CONCERNED ⁉️

This is another imminent danger in the reconstruction of the collapsed roof.

Recall, about a month ago the roof of ICC Center in Owerri collapsed as a result of poor construction techniques. Considering the large area of the building, using metro tiles roofing sheets was never a good idea. The weighty nature of the sheets would always outweigh the wood work.
Most woods in the market are soft or semi hard, the contractor may not have prioritize original hard woods such as mahogany or iroko. Another factor that could lead yo the collapse is the pitch of the roof. Buildings with large area requires high pitch roof with high guage corrugated aluminium sheets.

Now, we can see an iron roofing members are been assembled indicating possible use of still roof as against original plan of wood work. Building components are considered during design to follow construction procedures. If this building was originally designed to carry woodwork, installing iron roof on it is another bigger time b^mb. The building needs to be redesigned and stanchions placed at appropriate intervals to carry the steel roof.

In building construction, foundation should be given adequate attention. Therefore every construction procedure must be put into consideration otherwise there will be failure.

Compacting the floor before the concreting is very necessary.
It reduces the risk of depreciation, cracks etc.
