Copper vs Aluminium ⚡🔧 Which One Is Better?
One mistake I see on electrical and solar sites is assuming that copper is always better than aluminium.
The truth is, both have their areas of application.
🟠 Copper — excellent conductivity and flexibility. Commonly used for inverter connections, battery cables, distribution boards and building wiring.
⚪ Aluminium — lighter and often more economical, especially for large cables, overhead lines and long-distance power distribution.
🚨 The real mistake is not choosing copper or aluminium. The mistake is using the wrong conductor for the wrong application.
Cable size, current, distance, voltage drop, temperature and proper termination all matter.
As installers, we should choose based on engineering requirements—not just price or appearance.
