Ever wondered what happens on the shop floor at Valk Welding? It takes a diverse team, with many different skills, to build the robot welding systems we deliver to customers across Europe. Everyone has a role in making that happen, including the people behind the scenes.

We are looking for an HR officer to join that team. You support recruitment and onboarding from vacancy to first working day, keep our personnel records in Nmbrs in order and answer first line questions on employment conditions and absence. You join an HR team of three where everyone rolls up their sleeves.

Every month we highlight one weld from practice. This one was programmed with ARP, Automatic Robot Programming.

Instead of teaching the robot point by point, the welding program is generated automatically. The operator checks and starts. That saves hours of programming and delivers the same quality on every part.

Attention to detail in welding automation is often invisible.

The mechanical cleaner unit is a good example. It runs briefly, between welds, and hardly draws attention. But without it, spatter builds up, gas coverage becomes unpredictable and weld quality drifts.

A robot joins the team at Damme Kunststoffen.

In Amsterdam, Damme Kunststoffen builds plastic storage tanks, drip trays and custom products with just a handful of people. Small team, big step: a welding robot on the shop floor.

In plastics, welding is still mostly manual. And extrusion welding is heavy work that asks for strength, precision and endurance, while skilled welders get harder to find.

Weld quality comes down to three factors: temperature, speed and welding pressure. A robot keeps all three stable, also in positions a welder can barely reach. The setup: a Panasonic LA-1800 with a Munsch extruder, plus a manipulator with octagonal table that rotates the product in sync with the robot.

The result: consistent quality, less physical strain and production ready for the future. Automation does not replace craftsmanship, it strengthens it.
