From 10–13 June, MarQuip’s General Manager Jeroen van der Matten will be attending the MTB Events 'Meet The Buyer' Superyachts event in Malta.

MTB Superyachts is a programme of one-to-one appointments between Technical Purchasing Managers, Yacht Managers and Senior Buyers from leading superyacht builders, refit shipyards, yacht management companies, owner’s representatives and naval architects, together with supplier companies from across the superyacht industry.

We look forward to connecting with industry professionals and exploring new opportunities within the superyacht sector.

⏺️ 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐨 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧

Launched in 2018, the 76.75-metre superyacht Go has won various awards and has an impressive range of 5,500 nm. After seven years at sea, cracks were identified in the exhaust systems connected to the 3516C main engines. As Go’s chief engineer Lee Shaw explains, MarQuip devised the perfect solution while offering clear communication and a high standard of work.

The cracks in the exhaust system were causing gas to leak into the engine room. This was obviously a major concern from both a safety and operational standpoint. MarQuip’s replacement solution was installed in Port Adriano in Mallorca and was exactly what was needed. The new exhaust systems are of high quality and clearly built to handle the operational demands of our vessel.

⏺️ Introducing Daniël van Ravenhorst

MarQuip is pleased to welcome Daniël to our team as a junior project engineer, tasked with supporting our engineering department in developing cutting-edge exhaust systems. “I am genuinely excited to take on this role,” says Daniël. “It gives me the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the professional engineering field while learning from experienced colleagues.”

Daniël is currently completing a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Delft University of Technology and plans to launch into a master’s degree next year. “While my studies have provided me with a broad academic foundation, I’ve always been motivated to translate theoretical knowledge into real-world applications. And there can be no better place to learn and work than in a high-tech sector like the superyacht building industry.”

⏺️ Custom-built solution for optimal exhaust performance

For a client’s sailing yacht, MarQuip developed a custom-built waterlift separator with a condensate barrel. The system is designed with both fl**ge and hose connections for maximum flexibility.

Due to the long exhaust hoses leading to the transom, we added a condensate barrel to ensure even the last moisture is effectively removed, allowing the owner to fully enjoy their yacht without compromise.
