Chalmers iGEM team 2012

Chalmers iGEM team 2012 Our goal is to create a novel biodegradable pregnancy test kit as a part of the iGEM competition 2012.

http://2012.igem.org/Team:Chalmers-Gothenburg; https://twitter.com/ #!/Chalmers_iGEM As our iGEM project, Saccharomyces cerevisiae is planned to be modifed in such a way that the yeast cell should function as a biosensor for the human chorionic gonadotropin hormone (hCG). This hormone is produced in the body during pregnancy and consequently, the idea for the biosensor is to function as a simple pr

egnancy test. We also plan to introduce genes for bio-indigo production which will be the output signal of the pregnancy test. Have a look at http://2012.igem.org/Main_Page for more information about the iGEM competition and http://2012.igem.org/Team:Chalmers-Gothenburg for our team webpage.

We were participating in the UCL igem radioshow. Check it out here! http://2012.igem.org/Team:University_College_London/gemFM

Our aim is to raise awareness of the breadth of projects synthetic biology offers, and offer a platform for iGEM teams to share project news. The interviews will be archived by the iGEM HQ Alumni Association.
