Nationale Koffiedag ☕🇳🇱

Coffee is part of everyday life in the Netherlands, and at K**I Trade, we get to share a little more of Peru through the coffees we represent.

Over the past months, we’ve introduced Andeo , IncanForestsCoffee and Specialty Coffee at tastings and events across the Netherlands, giving people the chance to discover the coffees and where they come from.

This National Coffee Day, we’re looking back at some of those moments and celebrating the coffees, producers and origins we’ve had the pleasure of sharing in the Netherlands. 🤎

A closer look at CAZ Poker 🥃

On September 14, industry friends and guests joined us at The Miners Coffee in Amsterdam for an evening with CAZ Poker.

Carlos Zavala, founder of CAZ Poker, poured four expressions: Rey Blanco, Reina Joven, Imperial Añejo and Imperial Añejo Cristalino. As he poured, he shared his story and walked us through the agave and how each expression is made.

Meet Daniel Tuesta. 🇵🇪 🇲🇽

He is the master distiller behind CAZ Poker, and the only Peruvian master distiller in Mexico.

Originally from Peru, Daniel studied in Guadalajara and has built his career in Jalisco, Mexico, where he has spent many years immersed in the tequila industry.
With a background in chemistry and a deep curiosity about what makes tequila what it is, Daniel brings a scientific mind to the craft. He is, in his own words, obsessed with understanding what happens at every step of the process, from agave to tequila.

We chose CAZ Poker not only for the tequila, but also for the story behind it. Meeting Daniel gave us one more reason.

Tequila Tasting & Masterclass with CAZ Poker 🥃

On Monday 14 September we’re pouring four CAZ Poker expressions: Rey Blanco, Reina Joven, Imperial Añejo and Imperial Añejo Cristalino.

Carlos Zavala, founder of the brand, is flying in from Mexico to lead the tasting himself. He’ll walk us through the agave, how each one is made, and what sets them apart. You don’t often get to taste a tequila next to the person who created it.

At K**I Trade, we are proud to work with ANDEO , Incan Forests Coffee and Specialty Coffee , bringing coffees from places such as Cajamarca, Chanchamayo, Villa Rica and Amazonas to Europe.

Across these regions, Peruvian producers grow and roast their coffees in their places of origin, where different landscapes and elevations shape their character, aromas and flavors. This diversity is part of what makes Peruvian coffee so distinctive.

From Jalisco to Benelux: the story behind Caz Poker. 🇲🇽🥃

During our visit to Jalisco, we had the opportunity to spend time with Carlos Zavala, founder of Tequilacazpoker , one of the brands we represent at K**I Trade in Benelux.

Carlos’ connection to agave goes back to his grandfather, Don Miguel Zavala, who received family land in Tala, Jalisco and started growing agave there in the 1990s. When the market went through a difficult period, Don Miguel stopped planting commercially and later began making small batches of tequila to share with family, friends and people he worked with.

That story inspired Carlos to return to the same ranch, plant agave again and create Caz Poker. Today, the brand produces artisanal 100% agave tequila, carrying forward a family connection to the land across generations.
