Stable Isotope Lab FALW VU

Stable Isotope Lab FALW VU The official page of the stable isotope laboratory at the Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences, VU University Amsterdam.

Our stable isotope laboratory specializes in measuring C, N, O, and H isotopic compositions for internal and external academic projects, as well as commercial companies. We run a GasBench II device (analyzing carbonates, water samples, biogenic apatite), a TC/EA High Temperature Conversion Elemental Analyzer (H and O isotopes in hair and water; O in phosphates), and the Flash Elemental Analyzer (C

and N isotopes in collagen and sediments). Coupled with the TC/EA, the Amsterdam crusher device allows analysis of fluid inclusions. These devices are interfaced with Thermo Finnigan Delta+ mass spectrometers. In addition, we have several cavity ring-down spectroscopy (CRDS) analyzers in operation. The two Picarro G2201-i devices are able to simultaneously measure C isotopes in both CO2 and CH4. The Picarro L2140-i analyzer measures H en O isotopes in liquids. Follow us and learn about some of the cutting-edge research we're facilitating!
