🔧 Working week in Munich! We're busy with routine maintenance at our customers' premises.
In Germany, as in many parts of Europe, trolley abandonment is a common issue, especially in city centers. 🛒🚫

Outside this store, we found two trolleys from other brands left abandoned on public land. Meanwhile, inside this store, our Rocateq Cart Security system is effectively preventing trolley dispersion and keeping things in order.

At the Centro Commerciale Unico in Rome, our Italian colleagues expanded an existing Cart Security system. The number of customers of the Ipertriscount store is growing, and this required an expansion of the parking lot, with which Rocateq's Cart Security system also had to be adapted.

The trolley fleet consists of about 400 shopping trolleys, and this number has remained almost unchanged since 2018 when the Rocateq system was purchased. 🛒🔒

Recently an article appeared on the Financieel Dagblad website about the increasing number of shoplifting.

According to various researchers, shoplifting is increasing dramatically. But this only happened after the lockdown. There was much less shoplifting during the Corona crisis because many stores were closed. In 2022, the police recorded 40.000 thefts. But there is a logical explanation for this situation. Certainly, many storeowners and researchers see the current money crisis as one of the main problems. In addition, the growth of self-scanning checkouts also causes a significant increase in theft.
