Modern roller coaster wheel development starts long before the first passengers take their seats.

Using load calculations, energy modelling and ride simulator testing, engineers can evaluate how a wheel is expected to perform under representative operating conditions before the ride is built.

At LUC, our dedicated ride simulator can test wheels at speeds up to 𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝗸𝗺/𝗵 and loads up to 𝟳𝟬 𝗸𝗡, helping manufacturers validate designs before installation and support certification activities.

In our latest article, we explain how calculations, simulation and physical testing work together to improve reliability and reduce development risk.

From bridle and steering rollers to sink rollers, wringer rollers and slitter rings, polyurethane-covered components perform a wide range of functions throughout modern steel processing lines.

While many roller types appear across multiple line types such as CRM, CGL, CAPL and ETL operations, the operating conditions can differ significantly.

In our latest article, we explore:

✅ Common roller types used in steel processing
✅ The role each roller performs within the production process
✅ Key material requirements for different applications
✅ Why operating conditions matter more than roller type alone
✅ How roller selection influences Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

A practical guide for engineers, maintenance teams and technical decision-makers in the steel industry.

When coated pipe, stainless steel products, painted chassis frames and other finished products are handled with bare steel forks, scratches, scrapes and coating damage can occur even during routine operations.

Our latest article explores how polyurethane forklift fork covers create a protective contact surface between the fork and the product, helping to reduce handling damage while maintaining the load-carrying capability required for industrial applications.

You'll learn:

✅ What problem polyurethane fork covers solve

✅ How polyurethane fork covers work

✅ Why polyurethane is used instead of other solutions

✅ Key benefits, including improved grip and reduced rework

✅ A practical coated pipe application example

Read the full article to learn how manufacturers can improve product protection and reduce touch-up work during material handling operations.
