Another loadpin ready for service. Our team recently repaired and tested an 80-tonne loadpin using a specially designed test construction in our 1000 kN test bench. This setup enabled us to verify the loadpin under controlled conditions and confirm its performance before returning it to service.

PAT-Krüger provides force sensor repair, testing and calibration as part of our worldwide field service and sensor support activities.

A practical example of anti-collision technology in operation: the PAT-Krüger anti-collision system onboard the Milaha Explorer supports safe and controlled crane operations by monitoring crane movements and helping to prevent movements into restricted areas. A good example of how PAT-Krüger safety and control solutions are applied in demanding marine and offshore environments.

We completed the inspection of an Atlas 350 MHE electric crane, installed on an electric vessel.

As part of the work, the crane was equipped with a new PAT-Krüger Load Moment Limiter (LMB) with an integrated weighing system. The system monitors the crane load and provides the operator with the information required for safe lifting operations, while the weighing functionality allows the lifted load to be monitored directly.

Following installation, the system was tested as part of the crane inspection. we completed the inspection of an Atlas 350 MHE electric crane, installed on an electric vessel.

𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 - A crane built in 1998 was brought back into operation by upgrading its weighing system with a PAT-Krüger DS130 controller.

The original force transducers were no longer available, making a like-for-like replacement impossible. To restore full functionality, the system was retrofitted with modern 4...20 mA force sensors, fully integrated into the DS130 safety and control platform.

This upgrade extended the operational life of the crane while providing a reliable, serviceable measurement solution based on current technology, without the need for a complete system replacement.

At PAT-Krüger, we specialize in modernizing existing lifting equipment by combining in-house developed control systems with tailored sensor integration for long-term support and reliability.

A repaired 80-ton load pin has successfully completed testing on our 1000 kN calibration and test bench. To perform the verification safely and accurately, our engineering team designed and manufactured a custom test construction, enabling the load pin to be loaded under controlled conditions up to its specified capacity.

Every repaired load pin undergoes functional testing and calibration to ensure reliable force measurement and safe operation before returning to service.

At PAT-Krüger, we combine in-house engineering, repair, calibration and testing capabilities to deliver dependable heavy-duty force measurement solutions for demanding industrial and offshore applications.

Every lifting operation presents unique challenges, especially in environments where space is limited or obstacles are present. That is why PAT-Krüger integrates multiple safety functions into one intelligent control system.

This installation is equipped with a Load Moment Limiter (LMB), a height limiter and a Virtual Wall. Together, these functions continuously monitor crane operation, prevent overload situations, limit boom movement to predefined heights and create programmable no-go zones to avoid collisions with surrounding structures.

By combining these safety features in a single platform, operators can work with greater confidence while reducing the risk of accidents, equipment damage and unplanned downtime.

PAT-Krüger develops tailor-made safety and control solutions for mobile cranes, marine, offshore and industrial applications, with configurable functions including Load Moment Limiting, Height Limiting, Virtual Walls and Anti-Collision systems.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 - Every service visit tells a story. A damaged cable, unexpected vibration, extreme weather or years of intensive operation all provide valuable information that cannot be reproduced in a test environment.

These experiences continuously improve future designs, software updates and maintenance procedures.

With worldwide field service, repair, calibration and software support, practical experience from installations feeds directly back into engineering. That continuous feedback loop helps create more reliable systems for the next project.

Engineering does not end when a system is commissioned. That is where continuous improvement begins.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗫 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - ATEX environments demand more than certified individual components. Every part of the complete system, from sensors and cameras to controllers and displays, must work together safely under hazardous conditions.

Successful projects therefore begin with understanding the operational environment before selecting the technology. For system integrators, this means balancing safety, functionality, maintainability and long-term reliability throughout the complete installation.

Engineering for hazardous environments is about designing the complete system, not simply selecting ATEX-labelled products.

𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 - Modern safety systems are no longer defined by sensors alone. The real intelligence lies in the software that processes hundreds of measurements every second and converts them into clear information for the operator.

Our in-house developed DSx30 platform allows applications ranging from simple winch monitoring to complete overload protection for complex lifting equipment. Because the software is modular, solutions can be adapted to the exact machine configuration while remaining easy to maintain and expand in the future. This approach also shortens engineering time and simplifies commissioning. Based on the platform documentation, the system supports configurable parameters, diagnostics and optional remote data capabilities.

Reliable hardware is essential. Reliable software makes it valuable.
