𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻! In the Netherlands, when it’s your birthday, you bring the cake. So that’s exactly what we did in every HoSt Group office across Europe and North America.

We turned 35, and our colleagues celebrated the way it should be done: with a good cup of coffee and a generous slice of cake. In the Netherlands, the cake was served in our new headquarters in Hengelo, where we moved in this week.

We work from many locations, but we all started from the same idea, born in Hengelo, the Netherlands, in 1991: waste can become energy. Thirty-five years later, that idea is carried by people in different countries, time zones, and teams.

Thank you to all our colleagues for 35 years of (green) energy. Here’s to the next 35!

35 years ago, it all started in Hengelo. Today, we’re back.

During our 35th anniversary week, HoSt Group Netherlands opened the doors to our new headquarters, and we couldn’t think of a better week to start working here.

After a while spread across two locations, everyone is under one roof again, and you can feel it. People wander over to each other’s desks, conversations pick up in the hallways, and the ones who went months without sharing a coffee are catching up again.

Enschede, thank you for 16 great years. Hengelo, it’s good to be home. ❤️

𝗛𝗶𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗽 𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗿𝗮! That's what we sing in the Netherlands when someone celebrates their birthday. And today, it's our turn: HoSt Group turns 35. 🎉

We're celebrating 35 years by building for the next 35.

On 18 October 1991, Herman Klein Teeselink and a small team in Hengelo started with one idea: waste can become energy. Today that idea runs in plants all over the world, built by people who believed in it, then and now.

This coming week, we move into our new headquarters and returning to Hengelo: the first week of our anniversary year, in a home made to keep growing. And we'll keep celebrating all year, all the way to our famous anniversary weekend next year.

Every birthday deserves something new, so in the video you get the very first look at our anniversary logo.

Thank you to our colleagues, customers and partners for 35 years of (green) energy.

Nederland produceerde in 2025 zo’n 336 miljoen m³ groen gas.

Together, we cycled around the world! 🌍

Moving forward is what we do, in our work and on our bikes. Over the past months, colleagues at our Dutch headquarters took part in the Tour de HoSt Group. The goal was to cycle the distance around the globe, one commute at a time. We made it, and we finished strong with a record 3,622 km in a single week.

A big thank you to everyone who joined. Whether you cycled every day or now and then, every kilometre counted.

The challenge is over, but the habit isn’t. Cycling to work means a healthier body, a clearer mind and fewer CO₂ emissions.

And the next stage is already coming up: our Dutch HQ is moving from Enschede to Hengelo! For many colleagues, that means a few extra kilometres on the daily ride. Good thing we’ve had plenty of practice.

No new finish line. Just keep cycling! 🚲

Back to our roots, in a very special month.😀

This October, HoSt Group turns 35. The same month, HoSt Group Netherlands moves into its new headquarters in Hengelo, the city where it all began. After 16 years in Enschede, we're coming home, to a building with room for our growing team.

Moving in is a great way to begin our anniversary year: a new home, ready for the next 35 years. The boxes are (almost) packed and we can't wait to get started.

Soon you'll find us at: Haaksbergerstraat 47, 7554 PA Hengelo, the Netherlands.

Fats from the food industry, sludge from slaughterhouses, wastewater from shipping. At Wabico, it all becomes biogas. ♻️

Last year, the site produced around 10 million cubic metres of biogas, upgraded and fed into the gas grid. That's enough to supply roughly 3,500 households with energy.

Meet Joost Loeffen, Team Lead Process at Wabico, one of the own-to-operate facilities of HoSt Group.

"You can directly see the result of what you are doing. That makes the work meaningful."

A warm welcome in a special month. 👋

This October, HoSt Group turns 35, and we're happy to celebrate it with a group of new colleagues who are ready to help shape the years ahead.

We started the day with a knowledge session about our history, culture, and comprehensive technology portfolio, followed by a visit to Bioenergy Next Garden, our CHP plant in Bemmel, the Netherlands. We ended the day in the canteen with a drink, where everyone had the opportunity to get to know their new colleagues.
