To comply to the climate agreements of the Paris agreement, the Dutch Government decided to stimulate CO2 storage (i.e. CCS – Carbon Capture and Storage) in emptied gas fields. As part of these plans a system has been developed in the Rotterdam Port by which CO2 is captured, transported, compressed and stored in empty gas fields underneath the North Sea. This project has been named the Porthos project.

An existing formerly gas production platform, located 20 km from shore, has been selected to inject the CO2 into the empty gas fields.
A total amount of 40 Million tonnes of CO2 produced by industry in the Rotterdam Area will be routed via a 20 km pipeline to the offshore platform where it will be injected into the depleted gas reservoirs.

For intelligent pigging and commissioning pigging of this 20 km pipeline FB Group has designed, fabricated and supplied a complete Pig Receiver Skid which will be installed on the offshore platform.

We are proud to announce that FB Group has successfully completed the first-ever CO2 Conditioning Unit in the Netherlands, marking a significant milestone in the EU’s journey towards a sustainable future. 🚀

As part of the Porthos project in the Rotterdam area, this unit with its unique design will play a crucial role in Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) by removing Sulphur (H2S) and water from CO2 gas captured from industries. The conditioned CO2 will then be safely stored in empty gas fields beneath the North Sea. 🌊
This project not only underscores our support to reducing CO2 emissions but also highlights our active contribution to the global energy transition and climate objectives. 🌱

FB Group is delighted to announce the successful completion of a state-of-the-art Glycol (TEG) Regeneration Unit, set to be installed on an existing offshore gas production platform in the North Sea. This cutting-edge unit is designed to efficiently regenerate TEG used in gas dehydration while ensuring that hazardous outlet vapors are safely combusted with an impressive 99.9% efficiency in our Overhead V***r Combustor (OVC).

One of the standout features of this new unit is its custom-designed windshield, which seamlessly integrates with the existing production platform. This innovative design not only enhances operational efficiency but also significantly reduces offshore installation time.
We are proud of this achievement and trust this will have a positive impact to our client’s operations and environmental safety standards.

FB Group has successfully completed the design and fabrication of a skid mounted natural gas processing plant.
This plant will allow a large cement factory in Libya to change their energy system from oil based to natural gas and ultimately into electricity which will result in a considerable reduction in environmental impact.
The complete plant has been built using the skid mounted concept which will allow short and easy installation time by the local site contractor.

FB Group has completed engineering and fabrication of two HiCIB skids/panels for final installation in Qatar.
These Fuel Gas skid mounted units will be part of newly installed burner systems for acid gas and contribute to emissions reduction. The panels comply to the highest quality standards set by International Operating Companies.

FB Group recently supplied a Glycol Regeneration Unit (TEG) to one of our customers. The Glycol Unit will be installed on a newly built unmanned offshore gas production platform.

The unit complies with the highest environmental emission regulations and contains electric operated valves and sophisticated controls.

Complete design and fabrication was performed ‘in-house’ by FB Group.

After being tested the packaged unit was transported to the platform construction yard.

In the past months we have been working on a CO2 Treatment Unit being part of a Carbon Capture & Storage Project. The unit was fabricated and pre-assembled in two main sections in our workshops. Due to the height of the unit final assembly is required on our outside yard. Last week we transported the pre-assembled sections and assembled these including 4 large pressure vessels into one complete module. Total weight of the complete module is now 220.000 kg.

FB Group Team is proud to have achieved this milestone with dedicated personnel and good workmanship.

FB has supplied 9 pcs Water Treatment Skids for an International client. These units will be used for degumming, neutralizing, dewaxing and washing of fatty oils, such as various vegetable oils, lard, tallow and fish oil. The units have been fully functionally tested in our workshop including high flow water circulation. After testing the units have been cleaned, insulated and packed for transport to the end-user.

FB Group is fabricating a CO2 Treatment Unit (see https://fbgroup.nl/news/fb-group-awarded-unique-ccs-project-skid-mounted-co2-treatment-unit-to-reduce-co2-emissions).

Fabrication of the steel structure has been completed and this was transported recently to the paint shop. Once completed the frame will be returned to FB workshop for installation of vessels, equipment, piping, valves, instruments etc.

Crossing the roads and passing the locks was a nice test for the later transport of the complete module…

For a new client in the UK FB Group has fabricated and supplied a Turbine baseplate frame. Scope included detailed engineering, fabrication, machining, painting, packing and transport to the UK. The baseplate with a total weight of 48.000 kg was delivered in time and in accordance with the highest quality standards by DNV Maritime. Thanks to all who contributed to this successful project completion.
