🗼A rendezvous with a view!🥐Our own Sean and Wenda, editors for ’s space safety programme, met at ESA HQ in Paris last week while attending a Hera workshop.

☄️This autumn, ESA’s Hera mission will reach its target at the first asteroid deflected and reshaped by human action, after ’s DART spacecraft impacted it. Sean and Wenda joined the workshop to discuss how best to spread the word on this crucial Planetary Defence mission. Here they are!👀

Covering a launch from Scotland, Portugal and the Netherlands!🚀

🌅Early this morning at 5:52 CEST, the European-Chinese Smile mission launched aboard a Vega-C rocket from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.🌍Smile will study Earth’s magnetic shield and its interaction with solar wind, soaring up to 121,000 km above the North Pole, capturing continuous UV images of the northern lights and taking X-ray images of Earth’s magnetic field.📸Congrats to all the teams that made this happen!

Reporting live from Seville💃🏽- EJR-Quartz’s EO editor Marta is currently in Spain for the 3rd Earth Observation Commercialisation Forum (ESA CommEO).🌍Organised by Φ-lab, the forum connects startups, investors and innovators to turn Earth Observation data into impactful products and services. Through talks, panels, and exhibitions, ESA CommEO explores funding, climate monitoring and AI-powered satellite insights.🎤

📍 From the conference floor!✈️ EJR-Quartz’s Dallyce has touched down in Vienna, where she is attending the most important annual event for European positioning, navigation and timing: the European Navigation Conference 2026.🎤 With 450+ experts from 35 countries, 150+ oral presentations and a packed programme, there’s plenty to take in.

🌐 As an editor for ’s Navigation Directorate, Dallyce is busy providing coverage on their social media, lending a hand at the ESA Navigation booth and networking to get fresh ideas from the world of navigation.🛰️ Take a closer look at her time there!👀

👨🏻‍🔬Last week, opened the doors to their cleanroom facility in Cannes to media and to the ESA Earth Observation () communication team to showcase three upcoming missions🛰️: ESA’s () Fluorescence Earth Explorer (FLEX), EUMETSAT’s () Meteosat Third Generation Imager (MTG-I2) and the European Commission’s Copernicus () Sentinel-3C.

🌍With all three set to launch this year, this was the last chance to see them before their departure to the launch site.🚀
