Kho Liang Ie at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam

The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam currently celebrates Kho Liang Ie, one of the key figures in Dutch design history, with the exhibition Kho Liang Ie - Mid-Century Modernist.
His work was defined by clarity, functionality and a deeply human approach to space. This is especially visible in his interior design for Schiphol Airport, where architecture, signage, art and material came together to create a calm and intuitive environment for travellers.

The geometric relief tiles Kho developed with Mosa were part of that same design vision. Built from simple forms, the Classics Kho Liang Ie Collection creates rhythm, depth and a subtle play of light and shadow.

A design language that was modern then, and still feels remarkably relevant today.

A collection made to play

The Classics Kho Liang Ie Collection invites exploration.
With a series of geometric relief tiles, patterns can shift from calm and uniform to more expressive compositions, simply through repetition, rotation and combination. Each tile works as a building block, allowing light, shadow and rhythm to change across the surface.

In the third quarter of this year, the collection will expand with two new colours: beige stone matt and grey blue transparent gloss. New material expressions that open up even more possibilities for pattern, depth and light.
