Many original steel lockrings have a very thin outer edge. When using a standard wrench, it can tilt under load, increasing the risk of slipping. The result? Damaged lockrings, injured hands, scratched components, and a job that suddenly takes much longer than it should. ⚠️

Every bike mechanic knows the situation.
You've just cut a new cable housing, but the end isn't quite right. The opening has become deformed, the liner is obstructing the cable, and the inner cable doesn't run as smoothly as it should.
It's a small detail, but one that can affect installation, adjustment, and ultimately the performance of the entire shifting or braking system.
