Study Association V.C.M.W. Sigma V.C.M.W. Sigma is the study association of the Molecular Sciences cluster of the Radboud University in Nijmegen.

Sigma provides its members with a discount on the required literature, organizes study-related lectures and excursions and of course the necessary informal recreational activities. On our site you will find pictures of activities and the committees that organize them, all kinds of useful links and documents to help you study, lots of information about the association and a lot more! Your fellow st

udents also write columns (more or less regularly) about topics that might interest you. Would you like more information about Sigma or our activities? My week started out lovely as it was my birthday on Monday! I got surprised with presents just after 00:00 after which I got some well deserved rest. I brought cake and donuts to uni to treat my friends and received some more awesome presents. I also collected my birthday sticker from the Sigma Board. After my Polymer Science lecture I had a beer in the South Canteen and played a quick game of the Big Dalmuti. I got treated to a lovely dinner and finished my night playing games with friends in Camelot.

On Tuesday I mostly did some self study and went to a tutorial. In the evening I made some tasty nacho’s.

Wednesday I had to get up very early for my NMR lecture and tutorial. Luckily there is such a thing as coffee. I spent my whole Wednesday on my NMR course. In the evening I went to Olround for Master’s Bowling! It was a lot of fun to hang out with my fellow master students even though I did not bowl that well haha. Afterwards we dined like royalty with a beautiful friettafel. It was a great evening :).

On Thursday I had more Polymer Science and worked on a group project. In the evening I made a very tasty risotto and spontaneously decided to swing by the Pitcherparty.

On Friday I slept in a bit and worked at uni during NLT for high school students. Afterwards I decided to have a little selfcare moment before preparing to go to Fiber in Doornroosje!

Dearest Sigmates,

I am Denise, a third year MLS student and last week I finally had the honor to be Sigmate of the week!!🥳🥳
On Monday I started with studying for Chemical Analysis2, after that I went to the fantastic Member Hour where I got some candy and chatted with the lovely board🥰
Then in the evening I went to have dinner with se friends and play an Unlock! (A very nice escape room type of game!)
On Tuesday I had 1 lecture from a course of the social faculty for my Minor Pedagogical Science and then in the evening I had dinner with Maike, Jard and Ilse before the amazing Bacchus Cantus🍻It was my first ever Bacchus Cantus and my first activity as Photon Member and I enjoyed every second of it!
Wednesdays I am always free, and I always go to the Stretch class in the RSC! 🤸🏽‍♀️After that we watched the Sinterklaasjournaal in South, this is the same Santa Claus but then Dutch. Then in the evening I had some lovely kapsalon with Arbeid😌
Thursdays are always long days, as I follow Data 1, this quarter the programming part. As most of you know I am a real ‘digibeet’ (I cannot deal with computers) so this is quite te struggle for me.
In the evening my mom came to sleep over in my room!😍
On Friday I got a bit sick, but I still went to my tutorial with Freek and Laura. This quarter I also follow a squash course, and then my sister came around.
Saturday I went to my parents in the o so beautiful Limburg, because I was still sick unfortunately, but I had to study for my exam next week. 🥲
On Sunday I made dinner 🍽️for my family, some bami with saté, and then it was time to go back to Nijmegen with the Arriva train, and it obviously was delayed….😐
I went to my old roommates to watch Expeditie Robinson and afterwards we played 2 unlocks! We crushed it!
Then it was time to go to bed and think about how happy I am to go get my lovely Sigmate of the week Sticker tomorrow whoopwhoop!🔥

Dearest Sigmates,
Last week it was my turn again to be sigmate of the week! Although I have been sigmate of the week exactly one year ago, there has been a lot that changed in my week as a student and, this year, as a board member! My week started in the train, as I was on my way to Den bosch where I would meet my girlfriend. In the train I learned a lot about the Achterhoek while reading the Donald Duck. Once in Den Bosch I could of course not resist eating a real Bossche bol, which was amazing! After a long day spend, it was time to say goodbye again and travel back to Maastricht. The next morning I had to be at the GP, luckily I got a ride from my mom, which made me be there wayyy too early. So that is when I started doing some Board work, as I’m the secretary, it is my task to work out the minutes of every board meeting. After my consult at the GP it was time to step in the train again and finally go back to Nijmegen after a long weekend with my parents. The next day I had the ER course together with Kim, where I got to safe everyone from a burning fire! On thursday morning my day started with a morning run as I’m doing the sevenhillsrun again this year (and not brak hopefully this time). After this I went to university and did some more board work, like putting the new board and their photos on the website! Then it was friday where the whole day I worked again on the minutes and the membership update file. And I started looking at what the colour for the merch might be this year🤫. In the evening I had a department borrel together and did a barshift together with Laura and Martin. After this I went to my parents again. On saturday I cleaned my old bed as it will be sold, as I will get a new bed in a few weeks! On sunday I went to the bakery with my doggo and in the afternoon went to watch my Brother’s hockey match. I ended my day with watching a very spectacular F1 race. Well well, although I had an unofficial autumn break my week was full of adventures. I hope you enjoyed and until next time!

Dearest Sigmates,
I am Kiki, a fourth year Chemistry student and last week I had the honour to show you how cool studying is!
On Monday I went to university early to study, but since I do not live in Nijmegen I had to wake up quite early. After a few hours, I went to the South canteen to read a little. After studying the whole day, I drank one beer in the canteen and I went back to Den Bosch, where I live together with my boyfriend Joery. I had a dinner date with two friends, who live close to me. After dinner I had to bake cupcakes, for the StudyCee study afternoon. I am the co-chair of StudyCee, so I help with organising. Unfortunately my (gluten-free) cupcakes failed miserably, so I decided to buy some.
On Tuesday, we had the study afternoon, during which I was very busy making coffee. The study afternoon was very well visited which I was really happy about. Everybody liked our cupcakes! In the evening, the Board organised the Exam DiMiBo, where I got to drink a few beers with my friends.
On Wednesday I woke up early again to study at university. I was very motivated and got a lot done, so I decided to celebrate this with a little beer at 4. After coming home, I had to do some chores at home together with Joery.
On Thursday I decided to study at home, since I had to work in the evening. During work I was able to study a bit as well which was nice, since I had the Organic chemistry 2 exam on Friday morning.
The exam was hard, but I managed, now I only to wait for the grade. After making the exam I headed home. In the evening some friends visited us and we ate mini pizzas! After dinner we watched the whole of Shrek.
On Saturday I studied, but Joery and I decided to grab lunch in the citycenter. This was a great break in between studying.
On Sunday I had to work again and after work I had to study again because I had Thermodynamics 2 in the morning.

Hello dear sigmates, I am Robin, a first year MLS student and I will tell you all about my week :)
My week started with a Onecee meeting during the lunch break where we talked about a future activity. After all my lectures that day I had the bachelor graduation of my sister!! On Tuesday I studied for a while and I had some drinks with a few of my friends. Wednesday I was a little bit tired from last evening, but that didn’t stop me from doing a little bit of lab prep after eating a nice salad together with Kynan. The next day I had this lab day, the lab aptitude test, which didn’t go as well as I hoped, but luckily I got some okay results in the end and I was still finished a little bit earlier. After lab I had a concert of Wies in Zwolle which was really nice! On Friday, I had to go to the physio before my tutorials so I had to get up early :( Saturday I went to the gym, but when I got there I realised I forgot my student card so I quickly went back home to get it 🫠. In the evening I went to the city centre with some friends I haven’t seen in a while to catch up with each other. The last day of my week was a quite boring, because the only thing I did was studying for the upcoming exams and playing a little bit of guitar.
