Happy Alien Day (LV-426) to all who celebrate. We think ESTEC purrfessor emeritus would make a great stand-in for Jonesey, the star of the first two movies don’t you? He didn’t seem thrilled about the Weyland-Yutani delivery we took for the ESTEC Open Day last year.

Webb may have been dominating the news in recent months, but Hubble is still very much a going concern! This week marked the space telescope's 36th anniversary and it looked at the star-forming Trifid Nebula, which is 5,000 light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius. Every day is in our world, but here's a great opportunity to mark this year's by checking out the current Lyrid meteor shower that peaks tonight across the Northern hemisphere. From 10pm BST / 11pm CET look for the white meteor streaks across the night sky to the east or south east (opposite direction to the crescent moon.) You might be able to see better when it gets darkest after 2am BST / 3am CET. Set cameras to high exposure to capture those meteoric streaks of light and show us your pics, but we're thinking NASA astronaut Jessica Meir may have already taken one of the best ones we've seen from aboard the ISS.

The Juice mission turns three today! A few months back, Alfredo Carpineti chatted with UK Astronomer Royal and principal Juice investigator Michele Dougherty about the excitement around this incredible mission to Jupiter's icy moons.
