In the agricultural industry, reliable material handling is essential. One of our customers was experiencing significant wear and material build-up in a screw conveyor used for transporting abrasive bulk materials. The result: increased maintenance, downtime, and reduced efficiency.

The customer approached us early in the process to discuss both material selection and engineering considerations. Together we analyzed the operating conditions, wear patterns, and the areas where adhesion and abrasion were causing the biggest challenges.

To tackle these issues, we implemented a combined Kryptane polyurethane solution:

• Kryptane Red 80° Shore Ether was applied inside the screw conveyor. This grade offers excellent wear resistance and hydrolysis stability, while its smooth surface helps reduce product adhesion.

• At the transfer and drop points, where sliding abrasion and impact are highest, we selected Kryptane Green 83° Shore Ester. This material provides superior resistance to sliding wear, particularly in areas where the material enters the system at an angle.

The different Kryptane grades were selected based on the specific wear mechanisms within the conveyor, ensuring optimal performance in each section of the installation.

Using a detailed 3D model of the screw conveyor, we produced the wear plates precisely to size. The components were then professionally installed in our workshop in Pijnacker, ensuring a perfect fit and long-term durability.

Heavy Lifting Success at the Port of Rotterdam 🚢💪

Check out this footage from our recent heavy lifting operation during the annual shutdown at one of our valued customers’ facilities in the Port of Rotterdam! 🌍 Last week, our expert team successfully extracted the bucket elevator belt to replace the head pulley and bearings.

With safety first and detailed planning, we completed this challenging project efficiently and on time. From removing the old components to installing new parts, everything was handled with precision to ensure long-lasting performance.
