That's exactly the innovative approach Grupo Brisa has been trialling over the past few years.
Grupo Brisa is Portugal's largest toll road concession holder, with more than 1,200 kilometres of motorway.
Where technicians used to physically place signs 🚧 in the central reservation and on the outer verge, VMS trailers now take over that signalling role.

✔️ Greater safety and greater efficiency
✔️ No more technicians crossing the road with traffic flowing
✔️ An average of 2 hours saved when setting up and breaking down a closure
After successful trials, Brisa has invested in 20 new VW 1200 VMS trailers:
🚦 10x VAR.A
🚦 10x VAR.B
That makes Brisa Autoestradas the first organisation in Portugal to invest in this innovative method on a large scale.
Great to see how a smart change in working method has a direct impact on safety, efficiency and the daily reality of road workers.
