Last week we received a great surprise from one of our clients: Pump Street Chocolate!

They sent us a package with their Chocolate Gift Box packaging including three single-origin bars and a couple more delicious treats. The Chocolate Gift Box immediately caught our attention with its bright colours and the premium design. The presentation box consists of a paper tray and a sleeve with three circle holes that reveal the flavours of the bars through the iconic Pump Street stickers.

Inside each box are three chocolate bars, wrapped in gold foil and paper in a full envelope style (and packed on a Lareka BTB25!).

The Pump Street Chocolate Gift Box is a great example of how a simple and neat packaging can make your product stand out from the shelf while still looking elegant and premium. Using such a box for the packaging also takes the customers through a unique opening experience, from creating desires through the three circle holes on the box to sliding off the tray from the sleeve and revealing each bar.

We absolutely love this design and it’s great to see the result of combining creativity with smart design within the chocolate industry!

What is the payback period of a Lareka BTB25 chocolate packaging machine?

Throughout the years we have noticed that chocolate manufacturers often do not realise that wrapping bars by hand can be quite expensive. Although buying a machine seems to be a big expense at first, wrapping by hand does have some hidden costs and it is important to be aware of the difference between the two before making a decision.

That’s why we made up Ben for our analysis. He is a chocolatier that produces 100.000 bars per year and still wraps them by hand. After a few calculations, we determined that if Ben would opt for a BTB25, his machine would pay itself back within 2-3 years. Curious to see how we got to this conclusion?

What changes has the NP60 brought about within DuPLESSIS’s production process?

“The NP60 has allowed us to improve the reliability of our Neapolitan chocolate production by reducing breakage and therefore machine downtime, improving folding, and making the operators' work easier. These improvements have increased our daily productivity. The Buffer Belt, which provides the NP60 with autonomous feeding, has freed up time for the operator responsible for this task to perform other duties. The addition of a second Size Set has also allowed us to offer a second chocolate format, something we couldn't do with our previous machines.”

This is just a little taste of our short interview with Chocolaterie DuPLESSIS, an innovative French chocolatier that specializes in neapolitans and chocolate boxes featuring images of French sites and monuments.

Last year, Lambertz & Visser installed a Lareka BTB25 to support their premium chocolate wrapping range. Tray of Bon Bons in a Cardboard box: Keeping every bonbon secure from production to presentation.

Bon bons are very delicate with a harder outer shell and a smooth creamy center. A tray in a cardboard box is a great packaging style to ensure they do not end up breaking or cracking. Each bon bon sits in its own spot in the tray and the cardboard box has a window to spark curiosity and allow customers to already view the product before buying. A sturdy cardboard box around the tray can help protect the bon bons during transportation.

The tray is designed to be quite high and the machine folds the cardboard around it. Because of this, any type of bon bons or similar products can be placed in the tray to be wrapped with the Lareka machine (as long as it fits in the tray!).
